Very helpful, thank you! I just bought my first pot of 3D gel and I think this will be a very helpful tutorial. I do have one question though - does the 3D gel leave a sticky layer after curing? I suspect the answer is no but thought I'd ask to check. 🩷🧡🩷🧡 Forgot to add - I really loved how you were so careful to specify that these gels shouldn't be touched with your bare hands. I see so many people doing that and it always makes me 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I’m glad you found my video helpful! Ah so fun!! The possibilities are endless!! I think your question really depends on the brand! From all the sculpting gels I’ve tried, not really. There are some that may have a slight stick to them but nothing like a gel polish. Even if the gel doesn’t leave any tacky layer, I still tend to wipe with alcohol as I’m finishing, just to be sure! Most people recommend no topcoat (and I’d definitely agree for flowers like this), but there are some designs I do decide to apply it over. In that case, I don’t wipe before topcoat. Right?! And most of them are people who have influence, even if it’s “just a little”. I really wish all brands would stress to people not to touch it with their bare hands, especially if their main customer base is unlicensed DIY’ers. I’ve heard quite a few influencers that touch it just say “you’re not supposed to touch it, but I have for x amount of years with no reactions. So it’s fine” as if that makes it okay for everyone else.

@@KCNails thank you for the detailed information! And yeah, the amount of people saying "oh, it's fine" about touching uncured gel is just maddening. I've even seen people say these gels are "hypoallergenic" and "chemical free" so they think it won't cause any reactions. The amount of misinformation out there is staggering. I couldn’t agree more! I’m not licensed myself, but I try to research and get the information I’m sharing as accurately as possible.. I don’t want to share bad information and add to the pile of misinformation out there. So if you ever hear me saying something that’s not correct, feel free to inform me. There are a few times that I’ll do something incorrectly on purpose (such as applying nails over a gel manicure, rather than a prepped nail..) solely for the purpose of content, but I clearly state the correct way to apply it & why I do it the way I do.. usually those videos aren’t aimed at the application, rather the nail art.
