Thanks so much for the recreated tour of Knossos! My Dad was from Paleochora, Crete and I visited the site back many years ago, and I was impressed how contemporary the architecture appeared with its open stairwells and winding shafts for light. It was so different than most of the monumental architecture of the time. Thumbs up for the virtual recreation!

Amazing work. All important ancient buildings should be reconstructed in such way. By the way, let me ask you a very stupid question: were there toilets, or latrines, in the palaces? That might not be of much historic importance, but probably it was somehow significant for the folks who lived and worked there.

So beautiful and 'unique' the Minoan civilization truly was the first sophisticated European society. I say 'European' because the styles are not seen to the east of the Minoan settlements and these styles made thier way as far as the 'classical' Greeks and Romans, who are very much decendants of the Minoans.

The reconstruction in the map is very reliable and starts from research by Evans. Have a nice day :)
