Never thought of that way to do it! Thank you! would this only work for black backgrounds?
@tutorials9382 Жыл бұрын
This can work on any background, the outline is just for masking out the 3D character/object/set to get the noise/jitter result in the outline.

@@tutorials9382 Thank you for the quick response, so to make it work with any scene I would have to export a cryptomatte, and mix them with the outlines for the final matte right?
@tutorials9382 Жыл бұрын
@@niljimenez2262 firstly I would say, do some tests, play with this idea:) second, the outline is rendered on a separate layer, and the 3D object as well, then in after you use the outline just to mask the 3D object, if you use a 2D BG behind all this it will not be effected at all. and if you have a 3D BG in your maya scene you render it on a separate layer as well without having the 3D object cutting from the BG, meaning you treat each layer as a separate layer.

yo, i do have a question how you do with background? cause the toon edge "eat" the background behind
@tutorials938210 ай бұрын
yo yo, you just render the Character in a separate layer, the background is also rendered in a separate layer and the outline in a separate layer, eazy:)

how do you deal with overlapping objects?
@tutorials9382Ай бұрын
overlapping objects should be rendered on a different layer, overall this stylized idea is to use maya in a more stylized way, at the end it depands on a specific case/project, I suggest that you play with it, try to get a solution yourself, maybe you'll get a new workflow that no one has thought about or even create a style that no one has seen:)
