3D Modeling and Rendering a Girl Bust in 1,5 h in Blender (Timelapse)

Hi! I wanted to challenge myself this time and see what I'm capable to do in just 1 hour and a half.
I started modeling by scratch and the process includes as well: quick UV unwrapping, very simple texture painting, a quick rig for posing, lighting and shading (I didn't include the rendering time, it was 10 minutes by the way).

This was my first Character modelling tutorial. I remember failing terribly trying to follow this😂. That was 6 years ago. But over time i learned blender and im now a character artist. Its just so funny looking back and now. Thanks for this tutorial. This is probably the reason i started character modelling 👍

I'm seeing a lot of proportional editing and... is that smooth vertex you're using? Thats a good way to do sculpting without doing actual sculpting. But it makes me ask why you're not using sculpting. You can even use multi-res to keep your mesh pretty the way you like.

Well, actual sculpting is an alternative, but with few polygons like that, it's hard to use the smooth brush without messing the topology up so, as you noticed, i use smooth vertex on selected vertices. Yes I could use the multires, but as you can see, I keep adding egeloops and changing the topology, so, in this case I prefer actual modeling. I also like using different techniques, like simply sculpting and then retopology, or, as you suggested, using sculpting on a topology-ready model. It depends on what I'm doing.

@@riccardobancone3761 Yo, I learned one thing just from this comment (smooth vertex). Such good workflow. PLEASE do a tutorial. One thing though: It might be a tad faster if you started off with skin modifier. Not sure if you're into animation, but it would also make inserting an armature much faster. Keep up the good work.

Great stuff! I've done one female before and I'm working on trying to sculpt one now since I used box modelling like this my first try. Daniel Krueter is a great KZbin for learning stuff like this. It's what I followed my first one.

This is amazing!!! At 1:25, how do you select a portion of faces around the selecting point very quick? Is it neither circle select nor border select right? I feel like that enhance the speed for selecting a portion to work on or to smooth.

Great work. High end box Modelling. Even trough the results still don't compare to sculpting if you want to make something more natural. But hey for more artificial look great way. With your speed and quality I say you Modell for two years. Maybe 3 but get paid for it. So like me. Was a big box Modelle myself. So yeah pretty impressive shit and not even a worthless skill. Since you are so aware of this kind of Modelling you can greatly tweak low poly Modells after the textures are backed.

Ezydenias yep 3 years freelancing, plus life long passion for 3d (started for fun back in 2003). I Totally agree that sculpting is unbeatable. This is a 1,5 hours challenge. But once the topology is ok, better go with sculpting to finalize It!

IM Sketches Hey, that's not a circle select, that's the proportional editing radius (soft selection). You have to Press "o" Key in edit mode to activate it, and scroll the mouse wheel( while moving the vertices with "g" )to adjust the radius.

STUNTS not the same thing. when someone refers to gender in an objective form, male or female is the best option. girl and boy often interpreted as immature, young, while the woman man are often used when someone mets an ideal of maturity. in the same way, boy and girl can mean the opposite. so if he wrote the title female body, these kinds of comments wouldnt exist.
