think im pretty much done optimising for my PLA... but wanna print some PET and flex material at some point... and it does take quite a while finding the right settings so this is pretty awsome!

I think that's the best case for this, quickly tuning any new material that you use. Even if you only do the stringing test, that's usually the most annoying thing to fix.

Yeah, it's not perfect yet. That's why I've mentioned that adding a test for wipe/coasting would be great, because those two settings can greatly reduce blobls.

When I try printing the G-code on my Prusa MK3s it comes up with an error saying 'file incomplete' and doesn't start printing - seemingly waiting for the bed to reach 0 even though I've set the bed to 90 on the site.
@HobbyHoarder4 жыл бұрын
Could be corrupt SD card?
@sitech12344 жыл бұрын
@@HobbyHoarder I've generated the G-code a few times, used different SD cards, I've tried manually setting the temperatures to see if I can convince it to go to the next step. I reached out to them, they asked for the generated G-code, haven't heard back now for 4 days. I had paid for the week - I hope they give me another week when they fix it.
@tscUnhold4 жыл бұрын
@@sitech1234 Same happened to me on my MK3S. The generated gcode does not work, because the header of Prusa Slicer is missing. I tried to copy the print moves of the test code into a working Prusa gcode-file and it started printing but only one of those squares squished onto the left side of the bed. I guess I have to fine tune the file and have a careful look at all commands.
@sitech12344 жыл бұрын
@@tscUnhold I'm glad it's not only me. They never did get back to me, despite reaching out to them a few times. I even found the developer on a reddit post (ironically asking for owners of MK3(S) to test the site two months ago) but he/she never responded. Disappointed because I paid money for the service. I've written it off as an unsupported service at this stage. It's a shame because I've been looking for a standard workflow to tune filaments for a while now.
@tscUnhold4 жыл бұрын
@@sitech1234 that's indeed very disappointing, I'm using the free trial right now. I used a manual offset to place the gcode in the middle of my printbed and I got 3 of the test squares printed. Unfortunately, the gcode printed all the remaining test squares on top of the first three. So I end up with a useless thick stripe of filament. The generated gcode is flawed in my opinion. I will do some more fiddling with it on the weekend, it's been a while since I tweaked gcode in depth. Maybe I'm missing something. I will keep you guys posted, would be a shame if more Prusa users pay for a useless product in case it really is not working.

Hi.For ABS printing in slicer is needed some special adjustance, and on the printer i must change something,the printer recognise the ABS Filament or it's needed some manual settings?
@HobbyHoarder4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you have to increase the printing temperature in your slicer, ABS requires much higher temps than PLA. Other than that, not really as far as your slicer is concerned. Just so you know, ABS is really hard to print without warping, so it's highly recommended that you use an enclosure. Even then, it's likely to warp if you print larger objects. ABS+ is a good alternative, because it warps less. PETG is another excellent option, because it's almost as strong as ABS, but doesn't warp.

@@HobbyHoarder I just signed up last night and it's ten days (well nine now) for me. Either way it kept me up until 4am tinkering with it. I can definitely see myself signing up for this service on an ongoing basis just because it will pay for itself in unwasted filament.

@@Gorf1234 Ah, ok, I guess I just got lucky by signing up so early. Yeah, I'll use it as well. I'll wait until I have enough printers/filaments that I want to calibrate and then I'll buy the 1-week version and do it all at once. I'd also love to see an open source alternative someday.
@Danny-we4vz4 жыл бұрын
The bad thing about this is that once you found out some previous settings are interfering with the current test, then you have to go all the way back and re-evaluate the results if you haven't written them down. For me the retraction distance/speed doesn't work at all, and it's due to me setting the printing temperature too high (220)
@HobbyHoarder4 жыл бұрын
If you follow the recommended order, the tests are supposed to build on each other, so you shouldn't have to go back if prior results were ok. Having said that, 220 doesn't sound like too high for me. Sure it's on the higher end for PLA, but should still work just fine.

Thanks for this amazing tip and the website 3doptimizer.com. I created a free account and I tested the 4 basic options; after the tests I downloaded the profile on prusaslicer and it fixed 3 of my biggest problems: first layer, retraction and overall quality. The tests lasted very long because it printed from low speed to the fastest but in the end I'm really happy. The service It's not perfect, it could be improved in several ways, but for me was life saving (I was crazy and very frustrated with my 3d printer problems).
@HobbyHoarder4 жыл бұрын
