*You environmentalists are all CRAZY! I am a Harvard Educated Geologist. We knew that the earth has been getting hotter for the past 18,000 years! Also Ocean water levels have risen 380 feet in the last 18,000 years as glaciers started melting long ago before the industrial age. We know for a fact glaciers melt when the earth gets warm and Grow back when the earth gets Colder Again! This cycle of heating and cooling has happened 738 times in the last 1,486,000 years. I don't have any Denial that its going to get 14 degrees hotter in the next 60,000 years since I have known about it since 1960 when I graduated school! The Geological Record is filled with millions of pages of hard data proving that THE ICE-AGE CYCLE is REAL! Also mother nature has 99.9999% more power and influence over the ICEAGE than the Activity People Do! One Volcano can cool or warm the earth with the way more power than 18,000,000,000 Cars driving for 1500 years. Get a life, learn about what's coming and buy same nice tropical fruit tree seeds for making tropical smoothies and enjoy this TROPICAL AGE which is coming no matter how high you raise taxes in an attempt to stop it! Don't forget your 'Sun Tanning Lotion' folks, It’s going to be a hot one for the next 60,000 years and the Sun is only going to get hotter and hotter as the Earth ages so enjoy your Iceages whenever they crop up!*

I do take some issue with your claims at 7:50. You can break down most PLA on your own at home by keeping it in water at around 70 degrees celcius for a week. It won't fully break down, but it makes it far easier to biodegrade it

I've been gifted a 30W cheap pen to pyrograpghy pen to use - with no instructions - do you have to let it heat up first?
@HobbyHoarder4 ай бұрын
Even cheap ones usually heat up quite fast since the tip is so small. Leave it for a few minutes and it should be good to go. The only thing to keep in mind is that you might have to work slower - if you go too fast, it can't heat up the tip quickly enough.

I have this weird issue where the filament clogs in the bottom end of the heat sink (the part that is screwed in the heating element). It follows the general pattern for heat creep (first few lines are normal, then clogging sets in). Sometimes I can print an entire temp tower, albeit very brittle (so some clogging is in effect). Other times, nothing. My IR camera shows no heat leakage to to heat sink (only a cool 60°C, without the cover and fan). I do not understand why filament would clog in the heating element. It melts in there just fine. Creality's customer support is totally useless.

Everything is biodegradable, even uranium, given enough time. So when they claim something is biodegradable without specifying a timeframe, take it with a grain of salt, it's a generic term that can be used and abused for any product. Most people confuse 'biodegradable' with 'compostable.' The EU compostable label means that the product must break down within 12 weeks when buried in moist soil. "EN 13432 requires compostable plastics to disintegrate after 12 weeks and completely biodegrade after six months, meaning that 90% or more of the plastic material will have been converted to CO2."

It wasn't new, it was about a year or two old when I made that video. I wait for it to cool down before removing the object, otherwise it can leave marks behind. I also wipe it with isopropyl alcohol every few prints. You have to be careful with the spatula and not scratch the surface.

What is a proper retraction setting for an Ender 3 to avoid clogs? I’m having A LOT of clogs lately. Thanks in advance!
@HobbyHoarder7 ай бұрын
There are various Ender 3 versions, but it you have the one with bowden extruder, I'd start with 5mm and go from there. For direct drive, 0.5mm is a good start. If it was working ok before, I'd try a different filament brand first, it might be just as simple as that. You could try printing a stringing test/tower with different retraction settings, that should get you really close.
