Sorry I have not got back to you. For some reason your comment wasn't showing. The head of the snake is actually quit easy. The first thing you do is increase the row size from 7 to 20, by adding one on each side of the row. Next decrease the row size to 15 , you do this by leaving out the tips on the ends of the rows. Hope this helps you. I'm thinking about doing anther 3D origami video, what would you like to see me make?

To be honest I wasn't counting, it really depends on how long you make the snake. I just kept making more until I was happy with the length. I would estimate between 700 and 800 pieces. Don't let the number of triangles put you off. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the lovey comment. I couldn't tell you how long it took to make, because I don't know. The time consuming part was folding the pieces, the actual construction only took a few hours.
