Closest I’ve come is printing my avatar from Xbox Avatar Editor. I like it because it’s "close enough" and you can do pretty much any pose.

A while back I was making videos for a company that made an awesome printer but because the first batch of printers were dead on arrival no one purchased them. They shut down production after less than a year. Unfortunately I got part of the second batch which worked flawlessly out of the box so we ended up buying a dozen of them for my school’s maker space. Now two years later they’re starting to fail and can’t get replacement parts. My contact was either fired or decided to ghost me. Good times. Haha

Do the buttons on the back of the device work flawless?

Hello , Nice video, great 3d scanner, Im watching many videos about this scanner and it seems the best so far for the price. Nice tip for the turntable, what size is yours? cause it looks really big and there is no 70USD to buy , the only one near that price is the 16.5 inch diameter model that cost 89.99USD.

@@ivancuetowicq hey thanks for watching. The turn table I got was the 16.5 as well as the 23.6 , the larger one was more, however for a kid size or large items the 16.5 did the trick. The latter they had a bunch refurbished and so I got it in the low 70's. Anyway regarding the scanner, it really does have a short learning curve. I was impressed how easy it was to do the little Owl, then I moved onto larger items. I will definitely scanning objects is way easier than humans. When scanning a person they often move as it's hard to get someone still for 1-2 minutes.

@@CaptainCreativity I have the revopoint pop1 that I bought long time ago, and I recently undust it and along with revo scan 5 it turns it in a really good scanner, I can connect my iphone to the pop via wifi hotspot and the only thing that needs a cable is the scanner for power, they both connects each other. I must say than scanning directly to my iphone gives better quality than doing it with my PC , but sometimes, on the iphone, when trying fusion the point cloud , the app just crash, BUT it has a really neat feature, transfer the entire project via wifi to revo scan 5 pc version ,where there you can make all the steps from fusion, to clean up, to mesh and texture. Since it transfers the project, not a final mesh, and with the 2x zoom that revo scan 5 offers, it give really more quality. Anyways about the creality, I think it has more quality than the pop1 or any revopoint scanner. I have seen many videos about all revopoint scanners and they have almost the same quality , the only thing that stands from recent versions of revopoint scanners is the FPS, well there is also a little bit more scanning quality but not much. People post pictures of things they scan with for example pop3 scanner , and they looks kind the same of what you get from the pop1. By the way, the turntable you show in the video, I mean the one you are holding what size is? and what is the size you are using wiht you son(I guess he is your son not sure). Thanks

$799?!! I need to make local friends that are into 3d printing. Then sharing expensive tools like this make more sense. As a sole creator, my entry price is more around $199.

Yeah totally agree, for many personal creators the number you mentioned is a good sweet spot and there are definitely some solutions out there at that price point. There are even free solutions as well. I can't speak to whether they have the same quality and thats something I may explore in a future video. Meantime I think this is a great product for those small businesses or creators who can justify the expense or schools. But even a school I would say one should be sufficient and everyone shares. By any chance have you tried out some of the other budget friendly scanners or mobile apps?

@@CaptainCreativity I agree with you. I haven’t tried the budget friendly apps or solutions. I should give them a shot.
