3D Printed A-Team Van RC Build - The Max Team by 3DSets

Today we're building the 3D Printable Max Team RC Van by 3DSets with vintage A-team coloring. This is a complete build and first run video for the Van including installation of all plastic pieces, fasteners, bearings, drive belts, and electronics.

Looks a bit under geared? Or it could use a higher kv motor?

Yeah I think my battery was starting to die at the end of the video causing it to look a little underpowered. I could always bump up to a fully charged 50C 2s LIPO battery or even 3s LIPO for more power and it'll go much faster. The motor I used is 1100kv, I could've gone for 1400 but I think 1100kv is the right call for most people.

Is there a way to build or what would i need if i want this as a prop and not an RC?? I know i can just not do motors but more so suspension wise.

You could definitely do that but you'd still need shocks and tires for your build unless you found a way to 3d print those. You could 3d print a solid cylinder with some holes in it for a shock pretty easily if you didn't need the suspension to bounce. You wouldn't need motor, esc, servo, radio controller, radio receiver, wiring/soldering, battery, charger so the cost would be much lower.

How thick is the "glass" you used for the windshield? I tried 0.5mm, but that seems to be too thick already. It fits, but it starts getting micro-cracks on the corners already.

yeah that would be really thick. The stuff I used was about .2mm. I get it from an office supply store and its actually supposed to be for a desktop surface protector and it comes in a really large 2'x3'-ish sheet.

Nice model! I love the hidden switch.. One minor detail: the red striping should go upward to the wing on top of the van.

Agreed! With the machines these are printed with though I can only change colors on a certain layer unfortunately.
