For viewers who are interested :At 5'30", the geometrical forms which appears in your flange, are from the 3D, a 3D meshs use "triangular surfaces", all theses triangles will appear on your print, if you're using a lowpoly model, or if you convert your surface in mesh, with a low number of triangle. Increase the numbers of triangles, make it thicker too. And normally you won't see anymore theses marks.

Yeah i would have used high temp polycarbonate. You can use spot putty to fill and sand super smooth very easily with a palm sander or by hand/block. Also I suggest using spare filament and weld the seams together using s soldering iron. It creates a much better bond than any other method I’m aware of. I make all sorts of different stuff with different materials. Fun stuff. I love that the possibilities are endless when it comes to 3d printing.

Can i know the details on how seaming process..i also want to do 3d print for automotives but stuck at bonding the sub parts because of cost i am only able to get small to medium size 3d printer
@ChrisJohnson-tn1mo2 жыл бұрын
@@shishio_kyoto8414 i bond parts together using a soldering iron and melting them together. I use extra filament to fill in anywhere needed and sand it smooth. I use spot putty for those stubborn areas that still need smoothing.

Thanks. Just found some videos they using PLA pens. Looks great and strong. Just worry that it will snap but after seeing the tests, I was satisfied enough. Thanks again for the reply.
@ChrisJohnson-tn1mo2 жыл бұрын
@@shishio_kyoto8414 soldering iron works great too rather than buying one of those pens. I bought a 3 doodler years ago but never use it because its too slow and jams. Soldering iron is fast and you’re not limited to which filaments can be melted with it. Its melts them all. Lol. Plus i like that I can “brush stroke” with a flat tip and it smooths the plastic really well for less sanding after. Just need to be mindful to not over do it or the area being smoothed will get soft and collapse if it’s not 100% infilled.

At 0:53 does anyone have an idea how much a 3d printing shop would charge to print something like that if you already have the file?
@evlsc4002 жыл бұрын
A four piece fender, pretty thick like 100% infill on each part would more than likely be about 2 KG (two rolls of 1kg filament) which wouldn't cost a whole lot, possibly as far as materials go around $100. If each piece is printed 100% infill and on a decent sized printer you could have that front fender completed in less than 50 hours.

Chris if you see this comment let me know you opinion. Imagine if Nissan made an AWD Nissan Sentra Nismo with a 2.5 liter Turbocharged Dual cam engine out the Factory to compete with the Subaru Sti. Is there is any Nissan guys who agree?? And if they made a throwback to the b13 Sentra but modernized. 2 door with a 2.5 liter turbocharged AWD would be Titts 💯
