This video update show's the last steps of completing the Nautilus submarine build. I take you through the process of the multi layered painting work by spraying and by hand to achieve the rusted patina colors of the hull. Then a final reveal of the completed ship towards the end.

Wow, you did this project really very nicely, I'm the designer of this 3D model and I'm really excited to see a video of someone assembling all the parts I've designed. I would also like to thank you for your compliments. You did an amazing job with all the lighting, the glass panels and the incredible painting. Thank you for your great videos.

@@TrekWorks ohh thank you very much, I'm glad that you see it that way, I wanted to create something special for fans at a fair price and therefore I put a lot of time into the geometry, details and functionality, I find this project really difficult to print with Filament das but is really very well done, and especially the painting is very professional.

Rivets... rivets... RIVETS!!! Argh... But beautiful. Looks like the Nautilus from the movie, in some shots. I was lucky enough to see the 11-footer back in 1966-- for some reason, I was at Disneyland. My child brain saw a lot of green-- but it was dark. The boat was hanging from the flies of a stage, there was some kind of dancing going on, but my eyes were on the Nautilus. It was not all that well lit because it was not the central subject of whatever was going on. In retrospect, the look was a British bronze garden fountain with all the verde gris. But darker. (I was 11 so a lot of retrospect... ) Fun job, big job! And a remarkable build.

This could take me years to do. If you pick up a 2nd printer some day, I'm prepared to wait for you to do that while I'm working on the other projects. It's just that I've been dying to build a Harper Goff Nautilus for...well, forever. I love that ship and the film it's in, and NOBODY has that kit available anymore.
