was searching for 3d printed centrifugal brake and your design is awesome... will share some credits in video on my main channel if i build what i am planning to using this design ;) thanks

How did you connect it to the dremel? I don’t know what to do to make it spin

We got a rod the same size as a dremel tool shaft (you could also use an old dremel tool shaft) then used (super?) glue to attach the blue piece to the rod. We also modified the center of the blue piece to be the size of the rod.

Now that's a lot of friction.

@Bas Roessen it's used all the time. Chainsaws have it for example. It lets the motor ramp up in rpm's before engaging the chain itself.

@Bas Roessen a segmented clutch needs an input to operate, a centrifugal clutch can be dialed to engage at a certain rom and does not need anything else. No maintenance, no electronics, no oil, nothing. That's why they're used on small stuff. Cheap, simple, reliable.

I want to build a Clutch for an RC Car that runs with a compressed air engine but with this engine i get on max speed like 3000rpm what do i need to do so the Clutch begins to Start turning at like 150rpm? lower infill and Magnets i can glue in the inner ring to make it heavyer ? Could this work?
@somedude24925 жыл бұрын
@growlingbehemoth honestly, what kind of clutch do you think? Does the fact that you're in a centrifugal clutch video give you any clues?

I think you can tune it or make your own. If you make a bigger clutch and insert metal into the inner ribs, uou might be able to get it to work at lower rpm. If not, you might be able to add a gear ratio in between the engine and clutch, then another one to gear it back down after the clutch

Currently trying to design a mechanism that works like this kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKmYoaV6n7B0mdk I'm trying to make it so you push the stone and the blade goes out, and then you push the blade in to lock it again.

Jake Miller hey if your still working on this they looking at the inner mechanics of some switchblades

year late, but look at pen's mechanisms too. the open/close movement can be used for low force applications
