3D Printed Fishing Lure l One Day Build To Catch ( I bought A Boat Episode 7)

This website called www.gearbest.com/ Sent me a 3D printer the last month so i thought we would test it out by making some 3D Printed Fishing Lures and catch some fish on them. But thats been done so how about if i were to use the 3D printer to do a One Day Build To Catch the way Marling Baits dose but actually printing and fishing the lure on the boat while fishing! I meant to say something in the video but forgot I have been really enjoying Marling Baits KZbin channel of late where he dose the coolest videos he calls One Day Build To Catch. Even if you don't enjoy fishing you may love this series where he... well you guessed it he custom make hand crafted fishing lures and catch's a fish with it in the same day. I don't really like fishing ;) it's his personality that makes the videos so fun. Even my 7 year old daughter like to watch them with me ! So thats a dad win whenever i don't have to watch Ryans toy review.

I've been printing some molds for soft baits. So far it has been working pretty well. Petg holds up well to the higher temperatures of the hot plastic being poured.

Crazy action simulates injured baitfish. Join the halves with an adhesive-sealant like a polyurethane or polysulfide product. Cheapest option would be polyurethane roof and window sealant. One caulk tube would join hundreds of lures but once opened you have to use it in a few days. There is also a 2 part polyurethane product in a small tube. Use the solid eye for line attachment so it can be tuned...split rings prevent tuning.

If you do them with zero infill, they won't soak up any water as they'd be solid plastic, other than the cavities you design them to have.

ya it's a little porous but not so much It wouldnt seal up easy with a clear coat. in fact my popper never took on water. coming to play around with it some more I think and make a giant swim bait.

@@FowlersMakeryandMischief glad to be of assistance I just thought there is so many ways to 3dprint scaffolding at different strengths and Even designed to break in a certain direction for projects surely that could be applied somewhere if you have the right pattern I'm sure it could be used as scaffolding in other printing projects an when you take it out you have ready made triggers and no wasted plastic to throw in the bin either or to have to throw away in the survival challenge lol sorry for the long comment but this was how my thought process went when I saw you printing in the boat lol hope you can do something cool with the concept

I'd say those lures need painted with an epoxy. That should seal them fairly well. Maybe make two lures the same design and deal them. Paint one and not the other. See which catches more fish.

@@FowlersMakeryandMischief color is relative to the water you are fishing. Natural colors for clear water, bright colors for murky water. Etc. I think the biggest thing is just sealing the lures so they can't fill with water. When it comes down to it all artificial lures are reaction strikes. The action is more important than the color. The lure maker guy (can't think of his name) that you recommended for his micro jerk bait video has a video where he catches fish on a literal block of wood...

Everyone I know who ever bought a 3D printer has pretty much stuck it in a closet to collect dust at this point. They are fun to play with for a couple days but unless you have one of the $10,000+ printers they are kind of useless.

That statement shows a severe lack of imagination for the sorts of things you can make with them. Tons of household utility objects that would cost ten times as much as the plastic used to print them, decorations, tabletop gaming accessories and terrain... If the people you know only messed with them for a short period of time before shelving them, I question why they felt the need to get one in the first place.
