Boy that sucks!! Not being able to fit like they suppose to!! I've been there many times! And the problem with me is that I don't have the patience you have! But you did a good job, I think they look pretty good under the hood! Nice rig is coming along nicely👍👌

I 3d print most of my parts. Slowing down the print speed. Making the layers shorter are some ways to make these parts less brittle as well as other filaments. I even run 3d printed shock mounts on my scx10. And my front stinger bumper.
@VampireTech-aka-Feds8 жыл бұрын
If it's printed in ABS plastic it should smooth out quite nice and be stronger using acetone vapor.
@RCeveryday8 жыл бұрын
Its not ABS, its very brittle and doesnt flex at all.

In the future you can make your own headers from lead-free silver bearing solder (plumbing dept at Home Depot), and some strips of brass stock for the flanges. Cut the strips to length, drill holes for the header pipe, and bend the solder to shape. It's easy to cut and shape, and you can polish it to look like silver Jet Coat, or scuff and paint whatever color you like.
@RCeveryday8 жыл бұрын
Very nice idea. I've considered using brass but thensolder would be much less fussy to work with.
@reddsshaker34778 жыл бұрын
RC Everyday, Yup. And you can simply epoxy the solder into the brass pieces, or use CA glue. You do not have to actually solder it together. Actually, I would recommend that you DON'T try to solder it. That could be a catastrophe. Lol.

They work well enough for now. RC4wd just dropped a handful of new products for the V8 today. No headers yet but I wont be surprised to see some metal exhaust coming soon for it.

@stevenyoung30758 жыл бұрын
I think I'll try to make my headers.
@CarmineRC7 жыл бұрын
Headers end up looking ROUGH, no matter what anyway! I would just dab a little rust colored paints in spots, to mask the imperfections. Also, drill holes in the output flanges, to fit some kind of dowel.... it's great for lining up exhaust pipes to the headers! 😉

BTW brother, I know you STILL can't afford internet..... but you'll be able to read this at some point. I am still working my ASS off, trying to get ANYONE to help you and your family. Out of All of your subscribers, friends and acquaintances - *TWO* people have donated to your PayPal account since FEBRUARY! 😠😕😢😢😢 I'm regrouping right now, trying to figure out how to get people to help, without thinking it's just some scam..... I know you guys are starving, and I'm working overtime to get y'all as much food as I can manage - ALONE. Currently, I'm very frustrated, and inadvertently pissing people off, just trying to get them to help. Hey, I don't give up! I'll think of something. Murph

@RCeveryday6 жыл бұрын
You could, but you would have to stretch them on the bigger wheel. It will make the sidewalls bulge more. RC4wd makes the irok tire in 1.9 size but it is a bit taller. Not sure how much.

@RCeveryday8 жыл бұрын
These headers aren't from rc4wd though. I've talked to them about some ideas before as well. But it seems they only sponsor people who compete which makes sense. I'm not out going to events and promoting their products.
@reddsshaker34778 жыл бұрын
3D printed stuff is a crap shoot. Most of it is crude and coarse like those headers you got.
