Arguably Apple's dogged insistence on single click mice did them a lot of harm as time went on. Maybe early on the concept was fine but then Windows 3.1, 95 etc showed up and it turned out that yes having a second button, even a scroll wheel on a mouse was something people liked and found useful.
@oleg..10 ай бұрын
Mounting the single microswitch through the scrollwheel hole with two, often ignored, holes at the bottom is definitely the showpiece of this project. What a treat. Have you considered using the mouse feet? No doubt the paint will wear out at the bottom.
@KevinNoki10 ай бұрын
Hi Oleg, thanks for your comment. The mouse has already gone through several revisions. The version that I shipped to customers had rubber feets to prevent it from destroying the paint, and in the last version, I included left and right click, which is going to be available soon to everyone who likes to print it at home.

@@KevinNoki It's great to hear that you're improving on the project. I, myself, plan on making something similar, but with many more buttons. Maybe you'd be interested in expanding your product line to have a MMO mouse. In my opinion, the available options are rather scarce. Razer Naga could serve as a great donor, being comparatively cheap on the aftermarket.

Awesome! I love that you made a whole new model for it rather than gutting existing broken mice... although I'm sure this way is a lot less expensive. ;D

This is pretty cool I would say a good idea would be to make it so that the single button works like a Apple Magic mouse. It can detect which side for right or left click, and gestures work with something similar but not exactly like a trackpad (ie. Without the tracking). That would bring it to the next level. Cant wait to see more mate! Cheerios

Unglaublich, richtig gut!
@KevinNoki3 жыл бұрын
Danke dir vielmals! Ja, im Nachhinein hätte ich das von Anfang an machen müssen werde es aber in Zukunft updaten. Der Gedanke war die Maus für Emulatoren von MacOS Classic Systemen zu verwenden welche damals nur einen Mausklick hatten. Excuse my ignorance but what kind of 3D Printing is that? I never seen some print come out of a liquid before
@KevinNoki8 ай бұрын
Hey Daniel, no worries at all! Asking questions is how we learn. 😊 This is called an LCD 3D printer. It works by hardening liquid resin layer by layer with UV light shining through a display panel at the bottom of the printer. It's fast and perfect for creating detailed objects. However, you might not see it commonly because it can be messy to clean, the resin fumes aren't great for health, and affordable Devices often have smaller build volumes compared to the common FDM 3D Printers.

My least fave Apple mouse... great concept though. I liked the 'flatter square' model that came next, but the curvy tear-drop that followed was the one that I used during a lot of the 90's before I moved to the touchpad on the TAM. If I was feeling nostalgic enough to want something like this, I'd for the the 'flat square' model. Was in all the computer labs when I was in junior high.
