This is the final video on this project, and it was so fun to make. hope you all enjoyed watching, and if any of you have an interest in printing this out for yourselves, here is a link www.thingivers...

1. Clamp the shaft with a vise-grip and flatten the exposed tip to a "D" shape. Design the gear hole into a matching "D" shape to fit. 2. Consider using a screw/bolt for front wheel shaft, or maybe find the longest screw your can, and thread it all the way through!

I hope to see this go even farther with a bigger motor!! Love it!

Thanks, I am going to print this. Great simple and clean. Well done. As for those front axles, maybe make them mount as a separate part so when they break you only have to replace the spindle like a regular 10th scale 2wd vehicle.

Good overall conceptual design iterations and pretty good results. Gonna share some tips from my own experience as a hobbyist to help. When trying to bond metals with plastics like the motor shaft to the gear. sand the metal with coarse file to roughen it up for the glue to grab on to, and then dont use crazy glue (CA Glue), use something like 2 part mix such as JB Weld for plastic and metals. and also to create a key for the gear, just file down a flat spot on the shaft, and thin out the gear thickness so u can have some material like a collar either above or below the gear mesh, and drill a hole, use a grub screw to screw into and have it dead end on the flat spot. That should take care of the slippage. For the steering, to track straight, as well as for rotational purposes to maintain or rather using the camber properly, your gonna want to have both the upper and lower arms be able to swivel, not static at the bottom, and swivel up top. that way when the weight of the car makes the car roll while turning, the contact surface of the wheels in respect to the camber set will compensate for the shift in lateral weight on which side the car is rolling against on a turn. and the steering linking already has the ability to flex, so it will counter when the servo reverses out.

@@hamburgerinc6995 absolutely, glad to spread any knowledge i can share. Especially in the hobby. I love how 3D Printing opened up the hobby to whole new levels. Before 3D printing, it was 3 axis Cnc in the garage using block chunk of aluminum to make molds for the plastic gears and parts. Sooooo much waste though, from the material that has to be milled off. I love 3D printing. To be able to directly print out in plastics and now composite metals as well. Ive been building and fixing all my RCs plus more. Lol. Oh not sure if you have had a look over on Thinguverse. But the 3d design and printing community shares a lot of their projects, amongst which you can find many scale recreated cad and stl's of existing RC platforms and of many others disconnected as well. You can have fun with mixing and matching different parts and make a new one unique for your own. Easy to scale the parts to meet whatever scale you want the RC to be.

Very nicely done. A couple of thoughts. You can drill the gear and put set screw in it to grip the shift of the motor. And the front spindle that broke would be stronger with 100% infill. You also can make the car more stable by dialing out some of the steering on your radio. Overall you did a great job! 👍

if you want better straight line tracking you need to put some toe-out on the front wheels

That's pretty awesome, maybe you could add a cheap brushless system for some ridiculous power?
@hamburgerinc6995

that's true, it would be much faster. Just wasn't within the budget for this, but maybe a future variation

Hi. I 3D printed your models myself and it looks great. I just wanted to know if you used 180 degree or 360 degree servo motor?
@hamburgerinc6995
@hamburgerinc6995 5 ай бұрын
I believe it was a 360 servo, typical little blue one. 180 should work fine though

@@hamburgerinc6995 Yup. And the rear axle diameter is 5mm right? Because the hole in the spacers is 5mm.

hi i made the rc car from your thingiverse files i just have one question how did you secure the front wheels and stll let them spin because for me they just slip on and off there is no bearing for the front 2 wheels
@hamburgerinc6995

There is a 10x5x4 bearing on either side of the rim, with a small screw which goes into the shaft on the end to hold it onto the axle, hope this helps
