Nice work bud. One trick when sanding, hook a vacuum up to the sander and it will greatly lessen the dust. I’m a cabinet maker, and I can’t sand anything without it hooked to a vac. Festool makes the best sanders for this. You will find you go through less pads because of it. Keep it up, looks great.

Instead of fiberglass resin I've had great luck using Bondo glazing spot putty diluted with acetone (spot putty is acetone based so you can get a nice paint like substance that you just brush on, let dry & sand as usual ...

I am buying a 3D printer literally to do this exact same thing because of this series lol. If you use matte blk vs gloss blk, it will not be gummy and clog your sandpaper

FYI - Fiberglass resin and Bondo ( or car body filler ) are both polyester based. I've mixed a little resin ( without the hardener ) into body filler just to slow it down and make it a little more manageable.

ive been using your totorials for making helmets, and I'm making my own little mini 501st helmet. also, if you don't have a 3d printer, check out rjr productions! he uses cardboard, glue, paint, and just recently resin over the cardboard. its relly cool and defenatly would get 501st approved (he's not 18 yet)

Silicone brushes are great for resin as they can be reused.
