I may actually try the Briarios helmet now. Hard part is its a single piece file with a ton of floating parts so I have to figure out how to crack the model open into parts.

100$ for 3d printer 30$ for material and I don't know how much does paint cost to paint it and that's all (also maybe a bit for glue)

it's a tool I believe it's worth investing in, but I want a large printer that doesn't require tinkering with to get a high-quality product

Thank you for pointing out that some people are morons. it's always the people that haven't done anything sitting in a corner that say something won't work or is impossible.

yeah man it just costs a few hundred for a printer and a few hundred for printer upgrades to make it competent and a few hundred in spools of filament and a few hundred more because your first few gigantic prints failed because you hadn't learned how to use the printer yet and a few hundred in paint and filler and sculpting tools and a few hundred in clothing and straps and hardware to actually connect the printed armor to your body in a realistic looking way and a few hundred hours of learning how to do everything well so the finished product meets your original expectations and a few hundred days of printing and sanding and painting and sewing

For wearable comfort I'm going with the plastic, for collectible/ display purposes the metal one is the obvious choice.

$230 for printer and filament, $145 for the cheapest laptop I could find on Amazon that can support a decent splicer, $3 for 4.5oz of bondo, $17 for a pack of 3M 150 grit sandpaper, $12 for filler primer, $19 for super glue and activator, $5 min each bottle of primer, and $16 for a cheap pack of rasps and files. Assuming you don't already have any of these materials, this project would cost around $461. Much cheaper than people like to make these project seem, but still not something to scoff at.

Let me help yall Sidewinder X4 Plus S1 on sale right now for $270 USD. It has a big enough bed to 3D print an entire Mandalorian helmet It is their 4th generation printer they always work right out of the box just simple setup. If you don't think you need a big print bed then go with their smaller ones but bigger bed less splitting up 3D prints.

Looks great, guys. I'm doing a rookie build at the moment, and was wondering what you guys do to close up the bottom of the helmets around the neck, so it doesn't look open underneath (if that makes any sense).

There are still layer lines, we're just choosing to print on a quality printer with smaller layer heights to improve the prints.

Just for reference. I made the entire Helldivers 2 armor with a senator gun. I spend about $60 on spools (with a good bit of left overs) and about another $40 in UV resing, sanding paper, and paints. just the armor for about $100 is CRAZY
