3D Renderings of my Akira Bike project Phase I prototype currently being built

While waiting for some parts to come in, I updated the model and surfacing to be a little more realistic, added a background scene, and updated the color scheme to more accurately reflect what the final phase 1 bike will look like. This is a highly accurate representation of the all ready under construction prototype.

Have you considered making it electric? Wasn't Kaneda's a duel motor electric?

Yeah, I'll definitely be doing an electric version. I'm making it powertrain agnostic, it can run off different motors and powerplants with minor modifications. But the first one will be built around the cx500 engine. I think in the Anime it was a hybrid, clearly had some combustion engine tones. Also it has some sort of electricity shooting superconducting ceramic rotors - which don't exist lol.

I gather the foot controls don't include brake nor accelerator.

Controls are traditional motorcycle controls, right foot controls are rear brake and left is the shifter, accelerator is right hand twist. I will likely link the front and rear brakes though in a fixed ratio though as the low cog and log wheelbase make weight transfer during heavy braking much less significant.

I think both tires should be the same size and width.

I played around with that for a while and didn't feel the visual balance ever looked good. I may revisit that though in a later version.

Hey what engine are you using for the bike?

The phase I prototype currently being built is powered by a Honda CX500 which puts out about 45 HP. I have a 500 turbo and 650 turbo of the same engine to swap in there and bump it up to 100HP after doing some basic platform testing. I'll probably make some modifications later to support other motors like the K100/75 or one of the indian motors.
