Agisoft Metashape works wonders for 360 too, with way more control over the end result.

Could be useful in filmmaking. Location scouts could gather all that was needed to plot general dimensions of sets, shots, dolly tracks, etc with the director and DP later.

Thanks for your work Olli! I hope cupix vista integrates GS in next updates. Do you have tried scanning with Kiri Engine? Seems to be a perfect fit for small objects and gaussian splatting, but idk about large spaces or indoor scanning.
@OlliHuttunen786 ай бұрын
Yes. Kiri Engine is quite good and versatile service. You can do so many type of 3D scans with it.

Thanks for the Video Olli - I was wondering if there was a subscription price for Cupix Vista?
@OlliHuttunen784 ай бұрын
At the moment while cupix vista is on its beta version it is free to use. Subscription will come when they finnish and releases the full version of the service. I don’t know what the price ranges will be.

Sure. You can use X4 as well. it produces the same type of .insv files.

Luma AI allows you to use 360 camera as well to produce 3DGS
@brappineau41616 ай бұрын
However I think it only uses one of the files captured by one of the 180 degree lenses and not both
@OlliHuttunen786 ай бұрын
Yes. You are correct. Luma AI can also take 360 Equirectangular footage to process. But to be exact, it will not make a 3DGS model out from it. Luma can only produce older NeRF model out from 360 material. It can turn almost any video or images into Gaussian splats, but it can't do it with 360 footage. So that option is just a holdover from Luma's earlier service. After all, It is very rare that any of these 3D services could yet train a Gaussian Splatting out from 360 images. I haven't seen one yet. But perhaps in the near future. It could be this Cupix Vista or Postshot. By Bet is on those apps.

Wouldn't this be better executed with a drone? The drone is basically invisible to the camera, while the person walking around take a good chunk of the image capture.
@OlliHuttunen786 ай бұрын
Definitely! Drone would be a best chose if you are scanning outdoor location. It also supports the Insta360 Sphere camera which is made for Mavic Air 2 drones.
@takaides6 ай бұрын
An issue I've had with my current drones are the safety margins for obstacle avoidance are extremely large, preventing automated capture of many areas (think doorways or sparse forest). If I have to do the capture manually anyway, doing it with a 360 cam on a selfie stick is likely faster than resetting an automated drone run that stalled due to poor obstacle avoidance.
@marbasfpv46396 ай бұрын
@@takaides I don't know what drones you use, but with my Dji FPV and the Dji Avata I can easily disable all obstacle avoidance sensors and fly as close to object as I like. However I would fly all manual and slow. No acrobatics of course. I doubt automation would work good in this use case.

for small spaces his is more useful than the drone. Most apps for this you have to pay and/or you need a drone that you can setup a flight plan. You can use skybrow with a cheap drone to scan for free. However, I find this application way better for small spaces as there is safety issues, permissions, and otherchallenges with drones. Great video
