Thank you for stepping by. Please enjoy a short tutorial on how to make temperate chocolate hearts that I am going to use for making this cute 3D Shamrock cake to celebrate St. Patrick's day.
I tempered milk chocolate according instructions on my chocolate bag. If you do not master this skill you can use candy melts as they do not require tempering.
The 3D cake structure holds the weight of my little cake perfectly. If you aim for heavier cake, you need other structure that would hold up the heavier cake. This tutorial is not about that.
To finish the cake I covered the structure in fondant, added my chocolate hearts with a help of melted chocolate. Once they were set, I brushed more melted chocolate all over my cake, airbrushed it in various shades of green and added few brushstrokes with edible gold luster dust.
