3D2Y Rotuma Island - Not Your Average DXpedition!

3D2Y will operate from Rotuma Island from November 15 to December 4, 2024.
The 6 member team will operate locally with three 500w Elecraft stations on 6m-160m. Additionally, the DXpedition will include two of W6IZT’s NexGenRiBs.
One of the primary goals of this DXpedition is to “Enable DXpeditioning for the Next Generation of Amateur Radio Operators.” The NexGenRiBs will be operated by a team of young amateur radio operators who will get to experience the excitement that comes with being part of this DXpedition and what goes into making this type of activity a success.

Wow things have changed a lot since my DXpedition to Rotuma Island way back in August 1989. We were fortunate enough to stay with a family right on the beach at itumuta. 100watts from an Icom IC-735 to wire antennas strung up in the coconut trees all run by diesel generators. Hi Hayden, nice interview. Hopefully you can do more like this with future DXpeds. One request... Please lose the background music. With my heaeung loss & tinnitus, I have issues with voices & background noise. Distracting from the main purpose. That's why I run mostly FTx modes. Thanks Hayden, 73 John N7GHZ
