Close, turns out it was me pushing with the index side of the hand. When I released the arrow, the hand shot inward.

I think you made a pretty nice bow (very. nice) considering you never made one before It wasn't the. Bows fault. The grip may be the cause of [drfting left] but try pushing the bow!!!
