Not exactly 60 fps but still very playable. SOF uses the Quake 2 engine but it’s system requirements are significantly higher.

I usually play the GOG version with the community patch. Before SoF dropped on GOG, I used the community version with multiplayer support. It is worth noting that the GOG version works very well without the community patch, as long as nGlide is installed.

@3dfxvoodoocards6 You're welcome! =) I just forgot to say that for nGlide to work with the GOG version it is necessary to download and drop the dll "3dfxvgl" in the game's root directory, and set "3Dfx OpenGL" in options.

Big fan of Double Helix. I never did play this one back in the day so great to see it. It;s got a Wolfenstein meets Half life vibe.

@@philt6440 Double Helix was a very nice shooter, I liked it a lot. It works well with the Voodoo 3, I even uploaded a few videos with it a few years ago on my channel. SOF 1 uses the old Quake 2 engine, SOF Double Helix on the other hand the more advanced Quake 3 engine.

The game looks fun! The enemy death animations seems very well made, most other games people drop like potato sacks haha. I actually installed and tested this game if it is running well on my PC. This is probably will be the next FPS game I play after Half-Life

@@RootiferasRetroGameplay yes it’s a lot of fun to use those weapons against the enemies. SOF uses the old (by that time) Quake 2 engine but it’s still a very nice shooter for the year 2000.

Game uses some fancy models and not the easiest engine, so its impressive how Vodoo still gives you perfect 30 FPS! Did you try Red Faction 1 on similar setup?

@jake_reviews_games SOF uses the Quake 2 engine but the system requirements are a lot higher. Yes I uploaded a video with a similar system running Red Faction 1 around 2 years ago. You can find it on my channel :)
