For Prusa slicer, I would like to be able to use multiple nozzle sizes in the same print using a Prusa xl 5 head. Say for example you want a big print with small text you could use a .6 nozzle and a .25 nozzle. I am sure this is a feature they will get to eventually, but I expect it will not be easy to implement.

I've been doing that only one perimeter functionality manually with height based modifiers. This can be a big pain in the sits-upon to set up every time I want it, especially if there are several objects on my build surface. The new feature is better than the height based modifiers for the top layers with the "All Top Surfaces", as height based modifiers only allows the "Topmost Surface Only" functionality. All top surfaces will use a single perimeter on any part of a layer that isn't covered by another. An example to look at is load in something with a shallow angle top surface (like the Benchie's roof), slice, and then look at each step in the surface. The exposed part only has one perimeter, and the subsequent perimeters are under the next layer up. Also, if someone accidentally hides the login button and wants it back, look in Preferences/Other. It is the third checkbox down from the top.

I want the Macintosh version to have the multi-document support users expect from document based apps. That means the app has a UI even if no projects are open (settings, connect, etc). And none of this "open new instance" crap just to open a second project. This is likely a pipe dream, but I want the app on my iPad as well.

@@3DMusketeers Thank you for giving me a chance to write a book 🙂 It all boils down to Mac/Windows/Linux cross-platform frameworks developed in the 1990s. If there was a difference between platforms the developers tended to go with easiest and Windows centric. These frameworks have not really evolved that much for decades; just enough to keep up with the min requirements of desktop OSs. Windows applications tend to be single document and a new instance of the app is created for every document. That means there is no application functionality without a document window. The old MDI and now tabbed interfaces are a way to get there. Macs put the application menu bar at the top of the screen. That way the application has a life outside of a document window. That offers a very different workflow for non-document functionality and managing multiple documents. Prusa 2.8 on the Mac does not have the new "Menu" button. It still uses (thankfully) the top menu bar. Blender, on the Mac, has two menu bars (crap). Since Prusa Slicer is based on 1990's single-document framework, going multi-document will require significant work. I imagine there are many global variables that will break :-) And adding Android/iOS to that list is essentially a rewrite of the UI in JetPack/SwiftUI, or (hopefully not) WebTech. In my opinion, cross-platform App/UI code is never worth the cost. Algorithms fine. The mountain of hidden costs in the App/UI space isn't worth it. Once that decision is made you are stuck. Apple had clear migration paths for old Mac apps to evolve into iOS apps; same with the other vendors. Prusa, along with all these other old cross platform apps, cannot take advantage of that. But then again, I could be wrong about what some open-source developer is creating behind the scenes. I'm done 🙂

@@3DMusketeers I'll need to investigate. It's Flashforge Creator Pro 2. The print head carriage is just clipped onto linear bearings and the center of mass is above the plane with the rails. It's gotten loose over the 250-300 hours I've run it so far, so depending on nozzle drag and accelerations, I think there are a few tens of a mm of error in it. Really ugly. Perhaps I should just redesign those carriages and print them in ASA.

@@3DMusketeers Yeah I dont like the UI mainly, the window itself is super glitchy, moving the window makes it stutter like crazy and a few other things I dont care for about it, like random crashing. I have tried to update the slicer, but I run into errors while trying to update. I know its super popular and all that, it just doesnt seem very polished to me personally. Im sure it would be better if I was able to update it, only stable versions tried. Im not sure why I keep running into issues with updating it and I know its not my pc since everything else runs great on it and is pretty beefy. I have a A1 mini that doesnt get used very much because I am forced to use orca, I used bambu slicer once and then uninstalled it haha, Orca is for sure better than normal bambu slicer. Im always down to try something new, just didnt seem to work out for me on this one, at least at the time of writing. With that said there are for sure things that I do like about Orca, the multiple build plates and being able to have the printers connected directly through the slicer is pretty cool.

I would love to see "cancel item" based on some sort of coordinates. If you print 40 small pieces, one goes wrong, you need to cancel it. Now it is possible. But, you have to go fishing and cancel it when the nozzle moves there with "cancel current". You can circumvent this by naming each ov the copies with a different name, but show me, who does this. If you could identify the faulty piece using coordinates on the platter of the slicer, your life could be much easier.
