That last point is so important: Many in the community go "up"... they start with an Ender 3, see the specs for PEEK and go "how can I upgrade my Ender 3 to print PEEK/PEKK?" and it tends not to work. But what Vision Miner, Prusa, and Pantheon have been doing is starting with something that's high and going "down". Taking a printer that previously was $50k+ and required a service contract and proprietary materials and slicers and saying "nah, open materials... consumer slicers... and standard components" at a price that consumers go "they're charging WHAT?!" but businesses go "shut up and take my money". And they're doing it at speed, with support, and honestly... with some of the best people who could do it instead of some solutions engineer who exists to keep you inside the ecosystem, they have Rob, Bob, and Jo who present their company and the ethos they stand for. These are the things that move the industry forward more the anything else, even if they're not at the price points consumers may care about.

Vision miner is such a cool company. Years ago when their nano polymer bed adhesive was shown off by Joel I ordered a sample and instantly fell in love. So I ordered a large bottle but was curious if maybe there was a coupon or something for viewers so I reached out to them on Facebook at like 2am CST. I didn't really expect a reply but within minutes I got a reply with a personalized coupon code and a slightly sarcastic response. Ever since then I have used nothing but that bottle I ordered. Its been years and that one bottle is still going. It's almost out but I'm happy to order more. Anyways what was this video about?

Please print ABS/ASA in an 80C chamber and do an adhesion strength test a la CNC kitchen. Layer adhesion should be as strong as the material it self. The new hot filament easily melts the previous layer and fuses to it fully because the previous layer is just barely under glass transition temp.. I have an 80C voron my self and can confirm this. Noone believes me though.

Vision Miner are the goats of the actual 3D printing scene, theyve made a printer that is actually needed in the sense that the pritner opens new real posibilities (specs are high end), and capable enough to outstand cheaper printers, but not expensive as hell as the industrial ones. And the best part, they made it upgradable and you could even modify some thing on it. You could print endless things on it, some high performance polymers are stronger than Aluminum, a plastic, stronger than a metal, that always blows my mind Theyve understood it all

We do, in fact, use all genuine Duet boards in the machine :) While it is open-source, and using the cheaper clones would make sense, the stability and quality just isn't there, which is why we opted for genuine boards. Bed can only go to 100-110c as He stated, and can ONLY handle 200-300c, an head that prints 500c is BS when the plate/bed can't handle it, I call BS..

I have seen a previous review of this machine and it runs on the same hardware as lets say a Voron or standard Cor XY machine. It has got a better insulated enclosure but to me that does not justify the price point. To be clear on my opinion, this is a complete ripoff. There are other similar machines that can do the same and better, that is way more affordable.

@@AndrewduToit These machines are great, but they are not really comparable to this printer and the usage scenarios are also very different. This printer has a heat bed that is rated up to 200°C, can reach 500°C at the nozzle and the build chamber can be heated up to 110°C. The printer is for high temp materials that the printer you have listed cannot print. Even the models with an active build chamber heater. The printer is not for the hobby user but for the industry and the military.

@@andreas.grundler I know but replacing the hot end upping the software to make the bed warmer and insulating the enclosure still do not justify that price. O and the bed might be a different material.

@@AndrewduToit You'd be surprised how much the high-temperature stuff costs. It's easy to underestimate. Let me give you an example. The Prusa Pro HT90 is another printer in the same price range. It has, for example, panels for the casing that not only withstand the extreme heat inside but also have an insulating effect so that you can touch the printer even while the print chamber is heated to 90°C. Someone estimated the BOM for the entire printer at $1000. Josef Prusa replied that the panels and insulation alone cost more. This high temperature stuff is extremely expensive. Then there are the certifications and all the support from Vision Miner. The fact that the printer is produced in low-volume production doesn't really help to reduce the costs either.

I should hope it prints everything, at $15,000 🤯

It's impressive they fit all that into such a small form but $15k is massively overpriced. No one is going to be buying these except youtubers and extreme hobbyists.
