3DR Solo won't connect to controller, and now won't factory reset

made video to show how drone won't connect with controller. but the last 10 or so tries I can't even get it to factory reset for you guys to see.

I have the same exact problem right now. I let the drone sit for a week or so. installed a ribbon type hdmi cable and it cant find solo. Did the reset and at first the drone would not reset. did some reseating on the wifi chip and gps chip.. it then factory reset. but when factory resetting the controller it gets to the successful update screen and cant do anything after that. what did du find out? any resolution?

how do u know when its started its factory reset and how long does it take i tryed it i think i might of turn it off to early and now my solo wont conect to the controller

3dr clearly states when you reset the drone you hold down the pair button for 30 seconds or longer and wait for a quick 30 sec orange flash, you only held it down for 8 seconds and did not even observe if its flashing correctly. I have bought multiple 3dr solo's that were supposedly not working, and fixed them all with a reset of the PIXHAWK first and a reset of the solo computer. the problem most have is they do not wait for the solo to properly boot after a reset it sometimes takes a bit longer....

I hear ya sometimes they can be finicky, no orange light or a stuck orange light indicates the companion computer did not boot correctly, this usually means the SD card is not seated as the boot sequence is contained on the SD card. You have to pretty much disassemble the solo to get to it so you were better off swapping it out for a working unit. One small crash can dislodge the SD card, ask me how I know, also the SD card holders on both the SOLO and the controller are sub-par and I feel a real issue. Anyway glad you got it sorted and happy flying..

thats my case...i had small crash from meter....after accident i was able to power on and pair and so on...when i got home all of the sudden i could not pair solo with controler...so tired to reset solo...now i am stuck - orange light is constantly on...pls any advice on this???? thanks

Hi Jason. I have the identical problem. Were you able to figure out what was going on? would appreciate very much to know the solution. I changed my wifi card but that did not fix the problem. When I try to do a factory reset my light underneath doesn't even light up just like yours. appreciate any help and thanks

I contacted 3DR and they were able to determine that it was a defect and they replaced the drone completely.

CAST vídeos I didn’t find it. 3DR determined it was something on their end and they just replaced it.

you need to remove the sd card that is on the motherboard of the drone same thing happen to mine and it fly like new

I updated the software and now the app won't work since the Android app has not been updated since 2016. I tried to update it with an iPhone and the wifi won't work. I guess I'm fucked at this point. I have sent them a couple of emails and no answer. 500 dollars thrown away.

Yes. For over two months now. They just keep telling me to factory rest it over and over. They finally made me make this video to prove to them it isn't working. I use to be able to reset it but it wouldn't connect or it would but then lose connection before update was finished. I've reset it some many times doing what they told me it won't even reset anymore. They have been pretty slow at working with me. Before all this the drone was doing amazing, by far the best drone I've flown. Guess we'll see what they do from here. Only had it since Late April. And two of the months I can't get it off the ground.

oh swt thats the one but i ended up pairing my solo to my controller again and it worked all i did was turn my controll on like normal then turned solo on then i held the pairing button down till it said new solo has been found on the control and it says hold a an b to continue and conected and now um flying again soo happy

I tried that too. but i think something went out on the controller or drone that was just unfixable from my position. Just glad 3DR is helping out.

You do not have to reset the controller like that cause all your doing is confusing everything, just follow the steps on resetting the drone, it will automatically reset the Controller

Well almost I can't get it to even connect to the solo link. It shows up on my iphone as a connection acts like it will connect then shows no internet connection in orange under the connection on the iphone. Tried the factory reset a couple times, powering everything up in diffrent orders, Connecting and disconnecting from the internet. So I'm dead in the water can't do anything with it. Its an expensive piece of equipment to be giving me this problem after only a dozen or so flights. Everything else is exactly the same. I'm so frustrated with it right now, I'm about to make a video of it being blown up!

Did you get this resolved? If you go into setting on your iPhone , go to cell carrier and turn cell data off. Then the solo link should connect after it's connected turn cell data back on that should help. Just seeing this now hope it helps.

angel Escalante Montalvo load up mission planner and try it's diagnostics, chances are there's a loose connection with the motor pod.
