This is great! thank you! Perhaps you can help me solve a problem i have been trying to solve? I am trying to embed some text into an object as a different color and have it on the bottom of the part facing the build plate for a super smooth finish. But when i slice it, the text just disappears.

Great tutorial, thanks! Do you have any advice on how to position the text on the model? I'm not sure how to get the text perfectly horizontally or vertically aligned on the surface, same for trying to apply SVGs to a surface.

Great content! Was looking forward to this because I’ve experienced the “incompatibility issue”… is there any better way to work around me the problem than create a text box with desired font in PowerPoint, export it as image, convert it online with a, say, png2svg tool, and finally import it in your 3D CAD?

great video. However, I'm trying to add text to the underside ( plate ) as a negative and also color fill it with a second color, but can't seem to figure it out.
@3DRevolution3 ай бұрын
Thanks. Hmm, just so I understand correctly, are you saying you'd like to have some text cut away, and then to have the visible area of the text recess a different colour?
@cwkhonda3 ай бұрын
@@3DRevolution Actually I think I figured it out. But I basically want to put text on the plate side of a part in red abs at 2 layers. then print the rest of the part in black abs. end result is flush red text in red.

This was very helpful, especially as it showed me how to re-position text on a difficult model. I wonder if a logo could be used instead of text? For example, can you easily place your 3D logo onto a model and adjust it as if it is text?

Great text tutorial, Question, I recently wanted to add translucent text to a matte PLA pumpkin tea light. I found I had to make the text into a Boolean intersection cut off the pumpkin in order to insure that the PETG translucent was flush with the PLA matte but extended all the way through to catch the illumination of the tea light. Is there a better way to do this?

awesome tutorial for me as a fairy new 3d user. Do you have ant tips on not having supports on extruded text of only 1mm on a cylinder on a p1s using pla. Studio keeps wanting to add them, yet i see loads of print that does not need them, and seems to overhang more than 1mm.. ???? thank you

I want the text to be FLUSH with the surface but thickness is 0,1 no matter how much i want it to be zero (0,0) and flush with the surface. What the hell is going on. And i do not want depth for the text either either i want it to be flush. Is that possible with the bambu studio text tool only?
@Davoodoox13 ай бұрын
Ah F it i got a good tip from a reddit post just to move the text with world coordinates equal to how thick it is and that makes the difference from the surface zero.
@3DRevolution3 ай бұрын
I'm presuming you want it to be flush so that you can print the text in a different colour but have it flush with the rest of the design? This is super easy. Apply your text, and then set the embedded depth to at least 1 or 2 times your layer height. Don't worry about the thickness (the amount it's sticking out from your model it won't matter). Then in the Objects list, right click on the text shape, select "change type", and then select "Modifier". Finally right click on the text shape in the objects list again, go to 'Change Filament' and select the filament you'd like it to be printed in. This will then print the text perfectly flush in the model in the selected colours (you can also apply settings like fuzzy skin etc to the modifier and it'll apply this as well, still keeping it flush to the surface). Modifiers don't add or subtract any volume from the design so they only affect the settings for areas of your model that the modifier shape overlaps with it, this is why if you change the mode to Modifier, and ensure you have an embedded depth set, it will always and only produce a flush text.
