Have to say, I've been searching for tutorial videos for beginners of 3DS Max for a little while and nearly all seem to be either too quick or not explaining in great detail. Whereas you make things so clear, informative and at a comfortable pace. Looking forward to watching more tutorial videos on your channel to help me along my 3DS Max journey, thanks!

I really liked this tutorial, very informative and straight to the point. As a begginer it all looked very confusing at first and now it doesnt look like that as much at least. Thank you for sharing!

I have a rhino modeling background, completely different. I want to start with 3DS max, and with this tutorial and relaxed way of speaking, and trying 3ds max myself on the side, i get confident pretty quickly. Recommended.

Hi Adam, I just wanted to thank you for making this tutorial. I've been using Sketchup for most of my professional life and was always afraid of jumping to 3Ds Max because I thought it's a nightmare to switch. I know these very first steps are just the basics but your tutorial is making things seem much more tangible than what I was imagining. So thank you and looking forward to following all your tutorial videos! Catalin

these time stamps for me are because i learned blender before coming here these are sort of what i translate them as; 3:00 adding shapes 5:00 moving around and rotaing 7:40 focusing on an object 8:40 using the basic move and scale tools 14:05 messing with lights 16:00 showing the faces (u can also press f4) 17:16 subdivide and un-subdivide (basically changing the amount of polygons in an object) 18:30 edit mode (ctrl to select multiple faces, edges ect) 21:50 edit tools such as extrude indent/inset ect --- 25:57 adding extra edges

I’m actually taking a class to learn 3rd max, but the way the teacher explains it, each step is so drawn out that now that we are doing this big project I feel so lost on what to do with it because I’ve already forgotten all of the stuff. Plus the stuff he showed as example was boxy stuff and what I’m doing is round. But this has finally helped me realize what I could do to try and fix my messes lol

I am more used to autocad and fusion.. and 3Ds Max feels like shaping dry sand with your hands.. this video is a very good starting point to understand the UI, which is different to anything I ever had to use.. mainly because the most important tools are hidden in the tiniest menu and everything is labeled with actual words and not with pictograms like every other piece of software I have ever used..

I'm looking at 3ds as possibly what you'd get if Fusion 360 and Blender had a baby. This was my first tutorial and I'm intrigued. Not nearly as intuitive as either one, however there seems to be a lot under the hood. Great tutorial!
