i use max for almost 7 years and still miss something .. damn that no #19 insert key help alot .. Thank's man .. o yeah a lil tip .. you can customize your quads menu ( the one that pop up when you right click ) under Customize>Customize User interface>>Quads tab..and put many (if not all) edit poly command there .. have fun spending more time on Xpert mode while modeling.

any key combination is crap for the fingers. we have over 30 keys to use in the keyboard. why would we use alt+q for isolate? while in maya we use the ` key.

You can switch it to anything you like. There are far more commands available in 3ds Max than keys on the keyboard. Literally thousands. That vast majority don't even have shortcuts assigned. I'm assuming Maya is the same way only exposing a few, leaving the rest up to the user to assign their shortcuts.
