@LudvikKoutnyArt7 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks a lot! Gonna respectfully steal it and add it to video description :) As for the GPU raytracers.... that depends. Some are quite solid, like Redshift or Fstorm. Others deserve to be trolled, like iRay, Octane or Furryball :D
@V_A_Kamas7 жыл бұрын
Ha, you even stole my typo at 6th bullet point. Glad to be of some small help. Yes, I meant Furryball mainly. But I accidentaly delleted it :(

Hehe, yes. Shameless copypasta. And I will keep the typo there to amplify my shame :D

I love it and hate it at the same time. I lost a lot of time at arranging a lot of materials in multiple slate views and now they just dissapeared from the already saved scene. With compact editor is never happened.Now with your help, and OMG thank you a lot, i found out that i can display the materials directly from the saved library, no need to arrange them in "Views" OMG THANK YOUUUU
@BioClone2 ай бұрын
as long the material is used in the scene it still will be there. if by any chance you get it removed from the view, you can search it on the materials tab or otherwise use "show all materials in the scene" to get it back (however all posible order you made to the nodes will dissapear)

plenty of stuff I was unaware, you forgot to mention copy pasting, ctrl shift move, and when you hold ctrl alt and move it's the same as the alt c.. shift move is copying of individual nodes - but it's great, I was looking for some in depth slate tips, there's probably more

Thank you for this video. It is really helpful. I have a problem with laying out all the children. If I select material and press C the window appears with a text "no camera in scene" or if I have camera in scene it goes to camera view. I use to use the C for laying out children all the time and I do not know why it doesn't understand that I am at the material editor window and the shortcut C is not working. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for the useful tutorial :) I was wondering about two things, -the first is if I have a material or map that is attached to more than one parent, how can I grab all the wires to put them into another map at once -the second, if I have map on the slate window, How can I copy or instance it to Dialougs outside of it, like the environmetn map, or vraydisplacment map. or other things? Thanks again :)

hey ludvik ! this tutorial changed my life for switching to SME , so thanks ! a small question : is there a way, maybe in maxscript or other way, to enlarge the materials thumbnails i have in the sme to their big thumbnail ? for now it is small by default and for every node i need to see large i need to double click it....any way i could have all of them at once show up as large thumbs? Thanks ! love your corona tutorials also ! Cheers !
@LudvikKoutnyArt5 жыл бұрын
I can't think of any way to make that default, unfortunately. I do think it's possible to select multiple nodes and toggle it on all of them via some of the options in the top bar menu. I do not remember and I do not use 3ds Max anymore, so unfortunately I can not check :(
@amitshneor15 жыл бұрын
@@LudvikKoutnyArt wow ! thanks for the fast respons ! im sorry to hear you not using max anymore....there is not an option anywhere in the ui to scale the thumbs only the double click it...and it doesnt work for multiple nodes......well, thanks anyway man !

Cool stuff! I must mention here, that the controllers thing is also bad for artists and not visible in compact material editor, which i find using equally as slate. Autodesk could do at some point a projection node or something similar (as octane has). Thanks for the info

I have loved it from the beginning, and it is the ONLY WAY to work correctly. It's like AfterEffects vs. any Node based compositor, After Effects is basically useless compared to the node based compositors. In other words, thousands of clics or a few clics :)
