I bought 4 Japanese ones off ebay last year. All ranged from $120 to $150 counting shipping. All were in fantastic condition, the worst one just had a few little scratches on the touch screen that aren't even visible when the screen is on.

@@greeneyelightskin746 I paid really close attention to reviews, both how high the seller's percentage was and how many reviews each had (so I never bought from any seller that had under 97% positive reviews or very few reviews). I also messaged the sellers before hand and throughout to make sure what I wanted was clear, asked for additional photos, and that I'd request a refund if I didn't get what I wanted (which Ebay also has policies for that are strongly buyer-biased). And it worked out well for me. So basically I just vetted them.

Buying used products is not as unpopular as you might think. Plenty of 2nd hand shops here that rake in the cash. Ebay failed for many reasons. Hell, even craigslist gets used here.

I believe usually around the £150 range but it depends on what part of Japan if it’s a more touristy part it could be more than that if you can I would get one directly from there as it saves the hassle of trying to get it shipped to you once back home

At this point just use citra unless you really require the portability i much prefer playing monster hunter 4U on my pc on two 27 inch 1440p stacked monitors with with a Duelshock 4 Than use the original system nowadays with current prices

Using citra on a device like the steam deck is great the only issue with emulation is there isn’t many ds like form factor devices so there is always a compromise for example touch screen heavy games may be clunky to use or the lack of microphone and camera still totally for emulation

I’d be wary of buying Japanese DS consoles. I’ve bought a total of 8 and all but one of them suffer from the following: Grossly inaccurate description or photos, I’ve literally bought DS consoles that were 100% not the ones pictured, and they were in egregious shape. Cracks in the shell, weird dirt or oil marks that couldn’t come off, large and deep scratches, etc. Shipping costs can be very expensive and it this becomes even more problematic with trying to an attempt a return A lot of them suffer from yellowing screens or dead pixels on the screen, I heard this is because Japan being an island suffers from bad humidity thus causing these issues with the screens. Now with the 3DS this can be somewhat fixed with tinkering with Luma’s screen filter options, but it’s still going to be off If you’re looking for a better priced DS console I say this is the best route, but if you’re looking for a console in good or great shape I’d suggest buying from other places.
