Karl Clayton I just reread the lyrics, and yeah, you're probably right, I think this becomes clear especially towards the end when he sings about how she was seen somewhere and suddenly turns up again. But to me, the beginning still, inevitably, tells the story of someone taking their life away, without anyone noticing the warning signs. In the end, I guess this just shows how we all read songs differently depending on what comes to our mind when we hear certain passages.
