5G and 4G are faster, but worse coverage than 3G. So regional Australia will suffer.

This is going to have a far larger impact than people realise. Most people, when they think 3g, think of phones. Forgetting that many medical devices, vehicles, ect, rely on 3g for updates, transferring data, etc. Some can be upgraded, but the vast majority can not. This means a lot of things will become nothing more than expensive paper weights.

The biggest impact for most is that the wireless network in your car that call in case of emergency. A big headache for the car manufactures as they don’t have a good plan to change the modem in your car. AND in the EU it is law to have it.

What about the Regional Areas of Australia where the 3G network is the main network available. Often as I travel around Rural VIC there is no 4G network only 3G - so are we going to end up with less service and coverage as they close the 3G network? Is this just another push to get us off the land and into over crowded Cities? Or like many of the other commentators here agree, this is just another drive by the Commercial Sector to milk us of more money??
