Only one question- how voice part is handled in the 4G and 5g, if I understood correctly you said 2G was designed for voice network and 2G is not used in 4G and 5G network

Also are the BSS and MSC located on the same site? So when we see the cell towers, is there always an MSC there attached? And the same question goes to the NodeB's and their RNC's. So when we see these cell towers, is the 'processing' center always there with them?

so the introduction of the Data IP network was what allowed us to send texts, voicemail, and media right? Before this, on 2G, texts and media could not be sent at all?

Voicemail is just voice stored at a data center. SMS was introduced later, after 2G. It uses signalling only. Its a bit complicated so we may make a video when we get a chance. Regarding media, correct. That is why GPRS (2.5G) was introduced to allow sending data. The other generations make the data speeds better.

Wow, cool, so GPRS is what started it all... So the introduction to GPRS was internal (no need for a new access RAN network right? And then once 3G was introduced they decided that adding the air access interface was needed?
