3GX and Spektrum DX8 Gyro Gain.

No brainer way to set the gyro gain with the DX8 and a 3GX using two satellite receivers.
If nothing else works, try this. My theory is alway keep it simple. This way allows access to Rate Mode at any time using the Gyro switch. You can run more than one gain with Heading Hold by using an Aux2 - Aux2 mix. Set the value to some negative number and make it active in Stunt 1 and Stunt 2 only. I should mention that at the center position, the gyro gain is zero.

That is correct. Be aware that you will be using DSM2, not DSMX. In my opinion, DSMX is much better. I would use something like a 6210 with one DSMX satellite receiver. In that case you would use the Gyro channel for the t/r gyro.

That's one way to do it. But what if you want to have different gyro gain settings for IU1 & IU2? Why not enable the gyro, set the channel to AUX2 and have the switch set to F Mode? That way when you switch into IU1 or IU2 and it automatically sets the gain. If you really want to fly in RM you could set the switch to Gyro and manually change flight mode, then you can have RM or HH as you like. That's how I setup my 3GX and DX8, works a treat.

You won't be able to do that because when you use two satellites, the gyro gain is remapped to channel 7(Aux2). You must use something like the AR6210 and an SPM9645 DSMX satellite plugged into the receiver. Then you should have a true DSMX connection, unlike using two satellites and a 7 channel transmitter. At this time, the 3GX is not capable of DSMX. Once you hook up the receiver, you'll be using channel 5 for gyro gain. For a governor, use the MultiGov Pro.

Great video. I've just bought a DX8 to use with my trex 550 and 3gx unit. With this TX I only need the sattelites conected directly to the 3gx unit, ins't it? I just need to setup the gyro to Aux2. Thanks.

i have the dx8 gen 1, i was led to believe this had forward programming ect. However it doesnt, how can i make use of the as3x and safe feauture inside the rx AR637T ??
