not against yoga at all. Only against people teaching it is a necessary part of Sikhi. Its an extra thing like going to the gym... good for fitness etc. but we don't see people doing jumping jacks in the diwan hall. I just think they should be kept separate is all.

Why does 3HO try to say kundalini yoga = Sikhism? I am a gori convert to Sikhism, but not through 3HO... I became Sikh through regular Sikhism and nowhere is kundalini yoga or any yoga at all a part of Sikhi?? The problem with this, is that many people who learn about Sikhi in the West learn through 3HO and are taught this is what Sikhi is when it is not!!!

Baljit Kaur Actually as a punjabi Sikh, I think 95% plus of Indian sikhs, concentrate on the guru saints moreso, forgetting that Guru Nanak was not focused on the marshal aspects, history was. So, in a nutshell, these guys are going by the original and true teachings of Guru Nanak. What we have with sikhs for too long now, is like having the example of Christians believing in the 12 disciples, and forgetting about Jesus. Time for correction to follow the principles of Guru Nanak, of where Maharaja Ranjit Singh, understood the collective messege, that all is one and measured by there deeds and actions, irrespective of color, caste or religion. When one goes to a gudwara, one should feel the bliss. And I am sorry to say, those like here, that have chosen Sikhism as there faith, sing mantra with so much more spiritual excellence, that one is elevated to another realm. Sikhism means perpetual learner, and we should be learning from another fresh approach. No one likes fads and gimmicks that come and go, but, by working together, the result could be amazing. 🙏🌟

As a Punjabi Sikh I am not sure why there are criticisms here. Yogi Bhajan never set out to create perfect Sikhs in the US. He meant to teach Kundalini Yoga and spirituality. If some people decided to study Sikhism in more depth that was their choice. I do not know many perfect Sikhs just like I do not know many perfect Christians. 50% of Sikh men in Punjab, home of the Golden Temple, do not wear a turban due to fashion. In Canada where I am only 30% of Sikh men wear a turban. In a gym where I workout half of the Sikh men do not even bother to wear a kara. They say he who is without sin cast the first stone. Disrespect to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji cannot be tolerated. However even the Punjabi Sikhs fail in that regard. In April 2019 the Prime MInister of Canada visited and spoke in the Ross Street Sikh Temple in Vancouver. The Gurdwara committee allowed the Prime Minister's security guards to wear their shoes covered with booty covers inside the Gurdwara in the presence of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This has created great upset within the local Sikh Community since wearing shoes in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is considered extremely disrespectful. When the Queen of England and Canada, Queen Elizabeth, visited the Sikh's Golden Temple in India she took her shoes off.

No one owns Guru Nanak, as long as we follow his teachings , does not matter what and how we practice. Yoga or kirtan or any other means as long as it do not hurt others. So pls, we must start respecting each other as humans first, and try not to impose our own ways of practice to others in this world. I don't have a problem with yoga at all as a recreational activity. I only have a problem with classes being taught in Diwan Halls of Gurdwaras. Because where will it end? Should tai chi etc also be allowed? My problem is with people misleading others into thinking that kundalini yoga IS Sikhism when it isn't. I take it from your racist comment below that you really aren't interested in real Sikhi anyway. Only the Amero-Bhajinism being passed off as Sikhi. FYI I am with a Punjabi Sikh man!

I have watched that video before... 3HO is teaching people that kundalini yoga = Sikhi which is grave error. Also they do other Hindu rituals... I once asked them a question on Sikhnet about how kundalini yoga = Sikhism... and they did not approve my post stating that it was 'off topic'. My suggestion, go to local gurdwaras and avoid 3HO at all costs! It is not real Sikhism.

My freind is from a ancient Camboja Sikhs Lineage and he and his dad know 3HO are Purest of Sikhs in 21st Century! Only Jealous people claim otherwise. Kundalini Yoga is alwasy with the Sikhs, without it they are walking on one leg and losing balance! Gurbani is at One with Kundalini Yoga, Yogic Science it teaches comes from reciting Naam! Im 47 dear this is not nindya , it is truth and truth cannot be nindya. It is very unethical way to preach according to sikhism .
