Yogi Bhajan learned yoga from Swami Dhirendra Bramchari, who had a studio in Ashok Rd New Delhi and was famous in India for Sukshma Vyayam taught in many schools. Swami was known as “Indian Rasputin”: Prime Minister Indira Ghandi was his student, and this political access helped the Swami in his business ventures in aviation and arms manufacture. First off I would like to say it is important that we hold compassion for everyone involved. The victim and the assaulter are co creators in the events as are we as the bystanders. According to the the powerful law of attraction we do have the power to bend the universe to our will as we create the universe in concert with it. Kundalini and the chakra systems do lead to higher spiritual awakenings and they can be achieved in other ways like drugs but with less force of control. I always understood that the generations that came before mine were not only not as enlightened in their understanding of humanity but that as their evolution I was supposed to be understanding enough to forgive them. No matter how in charge someone may seem on the outside we can glean anyone’s experience on the inside and comparison to what other men of yogi Bhajan’s generation were doing and getting away with at the very least he was trying to create people who were his evolution. Many times in the past we have seen people who know better and teach better but they Are just the bridge to the next generation being better. And we will see in the future more of the same as humanity evolves. That’s the complex nature of the human condition and why we are not still sitting in caves and next to bonfires in the midst of our domestication. We need to tune into the grace that the teacher was trying to instill and we need to see that most of the best things in our modern world are the combined best of several things all brought together. So if yogi bhajan new how to listen to the people and pull them together , we need to be grateful in compassion that despite his personality flaws and defects that he took the tone and time to pull them together for his teacher/students. He was trying to help regular people get ready for the irregular times we have ahead of us with the shifting into the Aquarian age. And while everyone may not want to make the shift with the kundalini technology everyone should have access to the coping techniques the teachings bring forth . I’m not trying to minimize anything anyone has gone through I’m just trying to find the best feeling thoughts and maximize the dharma of being action oriented towards harvesting the practice for its best parts. If yogi Bhajan’s life as a man leaves a bad taste in your mouth then only focus on the buffet of teachings he left behind. And as with any buffet in the universe take the pieces that work for you and discard the things that don’t. Then we can move forward and tune into the golden chain of true intention of what I believe kundalini yoga is all about. Quantumfication. The multiplication of our invisible energy and subtle bodies while in physical we are separate but in non physical we return from this place and merge back into one soul continuously for all infinity.

Yogi Bhajan‘s teachings are mostly fraudulent and a mishmash scratching the surface of several disparate teachings. Your comments that previous generations to yours are less enlightened are stunningly arrogant. I am a child of the ‘60s and saw immediately what a fraud he was - those who blindly followed (and still argue for) YB’s teachings somehow weren’t enlightened enough to see through his fakery and criminality. I’m sorry to say that no one is going to change my experiences with kundalini yoga. Those experiences I have had are real and yoga Bhajan was the vessel that through time and space brought them to me. None of the other practices you speak of created those opportunities for me. Yogi Bhajan did. Whether he raked in large amounts of money for them or not is of no consequence to me I would gladly part with the majority of my own fortune to have my dying mother experience the peace she felt when doing kundalini exercises with me or the connection to her previously severed spiritual connection that she had as singing the longtime sun after listening to the gong. As far as I’m concerned you naysayers are the symptom of a system who’s main goal is to tear everything that makes people feel good apart. I feel for you in being the puppets of darker energy than you claim yogi Bhajan could be. The man is dead and I don’t know you. I’m not putting my perspective out there because I need you to agree with it. Or disagree with it. My experiences are all that I need at the end of the day. And at the beginning of the day. And throughout the day. I’ll meditate and think grateful thoughts for the mortal being that brought kundalini yoga to the ungrateful westerners that have turned on him in their last act of disgrace. Before the internet it was not easy to find out information about traditional Sikhism and specifically how Yogi Bhajan's teachings were related to it (or not). The few Sikhs I met over the years, usually in academia, were reluctant to say anything negative about him but weren't exactly enthusiastic.

I've also noticed it seems to really make women dry up and age quickly - possibly exacerbating Vata imbalance. I've found that the wearing white was an appropriation from Ayurvedic concepts, would love to know if that similarity has come up or been confirmed.

To Philip Deslippe : I want to point out inaccuracies in some of your statements made about the Yogi Bhajan GRD boiler telemarketing rooms. In your recent interviews, you say there was office supplies, toner and typewriter ribbons, sold to schools and non-profits,the checks were cashed but no office supplies were sent out by GRD. This is only true for Harijwan junior's(the toner bandit's) business which was a separate entity from GRD although sanctioned by Yogi Bhajan. I worked for both businesses over many years and am in a position to relay the facts about what really happened. GRD which was run by the other Hari Jiwan, (Chief of Protocol for YB) and MSS Baba Singh, sold the office supplies at highly inflated prices but they did in fact send out the product to the schools and non-profits. And again, both the Toner Bandit's boiler room and GRD's were sanctioned by YB but the toner bandit, Harijiwan, was the only one who was indicted criminally on fraud and tax evasion. This Harijiwan(Toner Bandit) went to federal prison for 18 months. When I worked at GRD, we did misrepresent who we were, implying through various techniques that we were their normal supplier and that we had their normal order of toner for their copy machine ready to send out. There was certainly fraudulent misrepresentations made at GRD but the product was sent out. We also engaged in bribing office managers by sending out gifts to their residences after large orders were paid. I will also attest to witnessing MSS Baba Singh, one of the owners / directors at GRD, cashing a huge stack of checks in a back room at a check cashing business in Santa Monica California in the late 1980's. The Chief of protocol, Hari Jiwan Singh was charged in a field of Schemes in June 1997, the Federal Trade Commission filed charges against Hari Jiwan. (Taken from an FTC press release) Hari Jiwan Singh Khalsa, also known as Stephen Jon Oxenhandler, a/k/a Bob Thomas; as part of "Project Field of Schemes." This law enforcement effort comprised of approximately 61 law-enforcement actions. In its complaint detailing the charges, the FTC alleged that the defendants routinely misrepresented the risk, value, appreciation and liquidity of the gemstones they sold and falsely claimed that consumers would realize tremendous profits. In addition, the defendants falsely pledged that they could and would easily liquidate consumers' gemstone portfolios after an 18-month holding period. In fact, according to the FTC, the defendants typically ceased all contact with consumers and refused to liquidate their gemstones after the 18-month period. Shortly after the complaint was filed, the court issued a temporary restraining order, froze the defendants' assets and appointed a temporary receiver over the corporate defendants. Philip, I think it it is important to tell the facts and the fact is that Yogi Bhajan's GRD did send out the office supplies although they were fraudulently misrepresenting themselves and were at highly inflated prices.

lord gawain: as an ex student for 30 years and teacher, i stopped all! i don't want to collaborate to those devil people! i learnt not long time ago that opening the chakras is not good at all, opening the gates to archontic entities; those chakras helped them to pin us to the matrix, without possibility to escape and go in other chosen dimensions; so i was thinking to just give postures, in reality all the body must move! bhajan said that: if it was possible to move the nose, i 'll give you exercices to move it "; so it's easy to create postures! i did it! they used to say in 3HO " you must not change nothing in the kriyas" : i changed always the places of exercices and no problem! then stop the mantras, only saying those of the SIRI GURU GRANTH SAHIBJI; the NAAM only ; and it's exactly what Siri Granth Sahibji said or the gurus; practice exercices and the Naam! ( but not hindouit! wahe guru is the one to jap) ; gymnastic but keeping up a little more time each exercice! stop all bhajna's shits
