The incredible Shrinking Town is not only one of the worst episodes but is another example of Cindy Vortex at her worst. It's also one of the most primary examples of why I dislike Stranded because she continues to treat Jimmy like shit, until like the last two episodes. And it's just one of the many episodes she's awful in. I honestly don't really blame Jimmy in this one when the episode starts at all of the kids bullying and harassing him, it also doesn't bode well for Libby either, normally my favorite character kind of goes back to a lot of her unlikable moments in Season 1, where both she and Cindy instigate the harassment of Jimmy's height. Then tell him to "Stand up and take it like a man" it's very much an instance of the "Rooting for the Empire" trope, where I actually side with the bandits here, because everyone who isn't Jimmy's parents deserved to be captured by them. Even if Jimmy makes mistakes, it doesn't justify their actions in this episode. Then Cindy shows up at the end to ruin Jimmy's trophy, proving once again she is a hypocrite. And this isn't even her worst appearance in the show! While it was nice to see the McSpanky's burger shop being turned into a spaceship (a nice call back to a previous episode) the unnecessarily mean treatment of Jimmy drags it down to me.

As in, she spends the entire show constantly bitching at Jimmy for everything he does, but especially when he messes up and one of his inventions causes trouble to Retroville, yet the moment Cindy either makes a problem worse or causes a problem, instead of owning up to her mistake she either blames Jimmy for it or doesn't have the balls to do it herself, there are many examples of this, The Eggpire Strikes Back (yes she DOES make that motivation speech to get the town to regain trust in Jimmy, but she never owns up or has the courage to admit her fault at play, the fact she let the villains manipulate her with false flattery that allowed the Yolkians to revive poultra). It doesn't make Cindy's dynamic with Jimmy fun if I am watching a hypocrite berate someone. (As a side note, her Valentine song, coupled with how she treats Jimmy in the first two Power Hours also show how HORRIBLE her dynamic with him is) But ignoring this fact, Cindy comes off as a hypocrite in this episode because of the ending. While I have my complaints with it (as I stated above) at least when Cindy gave a speech to the Retroville citizens, she mentioned that in spite of Jimmy causing trouble for everyone, he always goes out of his way to fix the problem and stop whatever happens that terrorizes the town, yet in this episode she decides to backtrack that principle to remind everyone that it being Jimmy's fault is what should matter most. Basically, she throws away the part about him "fixing his mistakes" out of the water simply to spite him! Which makes Cindy a hypocrite, because she is willing to flip flop on her morals just to 1 Up Jimmy. This also blatantly ignores how all of this started because Cindy and everyone in town who wasn't his parents were bullying and harassing him for no reason!
