Tbh, Both Margaret and CJ were toxic with Mordecai. Margaret left for a good reason, and one reason only. But ever since she came back to town from College, she made things awkward and worse here. Wait till you see the episode “Not Great Double Date.” of the Season where Margaret reveals the truth.

I do blame Cj but only because she has trust issues with mordecai and she keeps giving him chances. I blame mordecai more for just doing what mordecai does and making things and her trust issues worse when there's absolutely no need or reason. The only reason we defend mordecai is because he's a main character if he wasn't we would hate him. He's basically like skips cousin Quips when he's in a relationship but he's a main character.
