"Phineas and Ferb Get Busted" episode has to be one of the darkest episodes in the whole series with well going against whole message of the entire show but aside from that we also really get the idea of who Candice is as a character, she wants to be noticed and get approval from her mom along with the need to have her be noticed since there are cases of younger siblings getting more attention then the older sibling too, that need later turned to obsession which later make her realize just how much she needs them

It’s a shame that it all turned out to be a dream because it would’ve been some nice character development for Candace to understand that her brothers were just doing fun stuff. Is it crazy stuff? Yes, and is it dangerous, yes. But phineas and ferb are pretty mature when it comes to safety 😂 But yea, it’s just sad how Candace only wastes her time instead of just joining in on the fun.

Every time I see the part where Phineas and Ferb are on the bus, I can't help but think "Well that's a typical parent thing to do" because even though Phineas and Ferb are always doing things that no kids their age should ever be doing, It was clear that they have a gift with their mechanical inclination and sending them to a reform school was too extreme. But sadly that's how some parents in American society are nowadays, The instant they find out that their children have talents and gifts instead of embracing them they think it's a smart idea to have them sent somewhere, Where they can be re-educated and just downright brainwashed.

Biggest clue that it was a dream could be Perry secret mission and Perry defeating Dr. Doofenshmirtz's wasn't included in the beginning of the episode. Once Perry defeats Dr. Doof Phineas and Ferb's inventions or projections disappear.

God this is such a good episode in so many ways. Getting both the catharsis of them finally getting busted and following up on the knowledge that you don’t really want it to happen. Foiling the whole formula of the show without ruining the continuation of it. The realism of the parents being worried and angry. Makes you go “oh shit, maybe P and F really could have something so wrong one day, they are just kids.” All the emotional development of Candace realizing how much she loves them for who they are. Minor backstory development with the flashback to Ferb and Lawrence joining the family. The way P and F are so unavoidably creative and imaginative even when they’re cleaning toilets and how it highlights that all they want to do is bring joy and improve the world around them - fixing the bunk beds, complaining that things could be more efficient, etc, which I really like as showing the maturity beneath their childhood, like those are kids who will create life saving inventions one day. Also I love how the episode is structured so you could realize it was a dream but you would naturally think it was Candace’s dream, and it really seem like it, like how not only is everything going too perfect and with too much emphasis on her but also she’s hanging out with Stacy and Jeremy all the time, and Jeremy has very little personality indicating that despite her infatuation with him Candace hasn’t gotten to know him very well yet. You can even explain Perry and Doof’s appearance because she saw them when she was high on the moss. And THEN the plot twist that it was Perry’s dream makes sense because he knows the kids so well and cares about them but for instance doesn’t know their friends as well. And then OWCA running in to arrest everyone and relocate him shows us that Perry fears that happening and shows us the stakes of him being discovered which we will carry with us into future episodes. Good shit.
