Thank you for showing the actual folding of the clips and insertion. I could see by the instructions it wanted to fold the keys first, but I was trying to insert the folded portion like wtf! Thanks man!

This video was SUPER helpful but must admit that I had to watch it at least 5x. The comments helped because you have to look closely to see what part of the tab goes into the slot! It is the solid part of the tab, not the "forked" part!

OMG Thanks! I was about ready to throw this damn thing in the trash! 3M should really ship these things pre-assembled. I went into a remote area one day without my helmet, but found one of these at a True Valley hardware store. I couldn't read the instructions without glasses, so the store clerk tried to help me, but it just fell back apart, because he didn't fold the mounts over first. So wound up doing an 85 ft rappel without a helmet.

Mine came with an extra thin band that is not the 3M standard that go in the slots in the middle. What is it for? I just notice it fits perfectly in a hole in the back.

Duh... As others have said, I spent way too long trying to figure this out! Video saved me from throwing it across the room. Once I saw what part of the "key" slipped into the slot I felt pretty stupid.

I still couldn't figure it out. The 3M bands are pulled too tight and the helmet sits up way too high on my head.

After finally getting this thing put together and wearing if for almost 2 months, the fact is that they don't give you enough harness for the hat to sit properly on the head. It doesn't sit down close enough to the ears so it looks goofy sitting on anyone's head. I realize there has to be a certain amount of space between the top of your head and the top of the helmet, but the helmet is too small to fit properly. It's a horrible design and should be chucked.
