I would imagine as quickly as it ate into that rust it would be pretty abrasive on plastic. I don’t think I would recommend this disc for that application.

@@txtoolcrib thanks for the feedback. Anything you would recommend for plastic? I have plastic/acrylic spindles for my handrails and I recently had the handrails stained which left a lot of leftover stain on the spindles and I'm having an awfully hard time getting it off

You might try a fine grade resin sanding disc.

I think I'll have to try one after seeing that. I hope it will clean paint off without packing up like a flapdisk, And the version 2 flexvolt grinder due out soon claims to have 30% more power with the same runtime, super impressive if its true.

What is millscale?

It is the hard black layer of iron oxides that form on the outside of steel during the milling process. It is formed when the steel is hot rolled at the mill.
