It was amazing! Play with a friend you’ll have a blast. First time don’t bother with trophies just play making mistakes and figuring out all you missed is incredible. I didn’t even want to play the game, now it’s one of my top five of all time.

I didn't realize that going on a date with Karlach was difficult. I played my first run as a heroic type, romancing her, and I got to that point organically. Granted, this was like a month after the game's release, so something might have changed since then. That's a huge selling point for the game for me though, that multiple people can have different ideas of what in the game is or isn't difficult, just based on how that person has been playing the game. Love it!

25:00 The thing about Minthara's raid on the grove is that there isn't any need to rush, you can take plenty of time/long rests. It can't happen until someone tells Minthara the grove's location. It just so happened that in your first playthrough you helped Sazza escape from the grove for the trophy, and so Sazza lead Minthara straight there.

At 8:45 when you tried to loot the spider you clicked on a pile of bones next to it, that’s why the loot was only 2 gold. Not that you missed anything gamebreaking, just thought I would point it out :) Grats on the platinum

love the video man but there actually is a way to keep shadowheart in your camp AND save nightsong! Shadowheart is garunteed to permanently leave if you dont bring her into the fight with balthazar and the choice of whether or not to save nightsong. In my personal playthrough I made a few persuasion checks to convince Shadowheart not to do it and she later denounces her faith to Shar in the game! There are so many possibilities and options I love this game so much.

It's amazing how many ways the narrative of the game can change depending on the decisions you make. I never had Shadowheart leave my party, but i managed both story paths on my 2 playthroughs where she's a cleric of Selune and a cleric of Shar. The way the story plays out in both scenarios is really well done

From Gerringothe Thorme, the Mace Twist of Fortune will deal 1d6 damage for every 300 gold in a targets inventory, but will consume the gold in the process. I used a cheese to steal gold from merchants, used my Tav to cast invisibility on Astarion to have him pickpocket and plant massive stacks of gold into their inventories. I then casted Invisibility on Shart and had her use that weapon to deal massive damage and one-shotting Orin and Gortash.

Balthazar can be killed before you go to the Nightsong. Makes him much easier. Also keep Shadowheart with you through the entire gauntlet of Shar and be good and she’ll choose to save the Nightsong and stay 😊

Trusting shadowheart to not kill her isn’t guaranteed, I’ve had it go both ways. I think it’s based on approval or if you’ve gone with good choices up until then, which makes it even more satisfying when she doesn’t

For the Balthazar fight, sneak around and move (don’t throw except for the 2 skeletons off the main boss arena before you reach it as it will agro the boss) all of the skeletons to the very point where you first jump in. I put 6 explosive barrels down in front of them and then used astarion to pick pocket the speed potion out of Balthazar’s pocket starting the fight. All the skeletons spawned right there by the barrels. One flame bolt and they were gone. Then just focus fired on boss man. Or just polymorph him before he agros and shove him like you did.

You can actually have shadowheart not leave the party and free the nightsong! You just need to be a good boy, have high approval from her, and then, once you both arrive to the nightsong, leave her the choice! Trust her to do the right thing, and she will convert, leave shar's cult and become a cleric of selune

An easier way to get the Blood of Lathander is you can use Astarion (or whoever is your rogue) to pick the lock holding the Dawnmaster's crest instead of grabbing all the weapons. It has a DC of 30 and you have to pass a perception check to see the wall safe though, so 'easier' is a bit in the eye of the beholder.

Just a little thing from your Orin duel, paralysis makes all melee hits Critical, so the best way to benefit from Hold Monster are high damage melee builds like Paladin

Super easy way to knock down the dragon and kill gortash without traps. Use mind blast on the dragon it knocks him down. In the room outside gortash boss fight room destroy the traps with lightning I did it on my tactician and it didn't agro him I used sneak attack on him and it started combat he entered that room and we killed him without traps activating as we destroyed those ones.

Yea 100% BG3 is tough. A lot of the achievements require several prerequites and planning for them to even give you the chance of completing. I have had to do several full runs just for a few of them. I'm currently 3 away from 100% but I have to do an entire full playthrough for 1 of them.

y'know I had no idea Minthara would raid the camp because I found my way into the goblin camp and beat her in there without ever talking to her LMFAO Then thanks to the wonderful modding scene I was able to recruit her later on Act 2 and what a ride it was.

i mean, you don't need mods. at least these days you don't. you can get her in a few "easy" steps regardless of which side you choose: 1.) go into the camp and talk to her 2.) AFTER talking to her, initate a fight and use none-lethal damage to knock her out (the game will still count her as taken care of for story progress, despite her just being unconcious. make sure though none of the goblins get to play the drum. if a goblin plays the drums, it will change her alligment from temporary hostile, due to you attacking her, to permanently hostile, voiding your chance to recruit her). 3.) proceed as normal and save her during act 2 4.) ???? 6.) profit. or you could just side with her and kill everyone at the groove. either or works.

i started playing this game on normal difficulty and i fee like most enemies can two shot my party but half the time i miss or do 5 points of damage, any advice?

read the tooltips and press T to inspect certain keywords

normal difficulty is almost impossible to lose if you just do the bare minimum of gearing properly and reading tooltips of enemies. If you are doing low damage or missing, it's because you aren't understanding the enemy attributes and/or your proficiencies. A tip i would recommend is using the combat history log to see the rolls and checks during combat, to see how and why you're missing/doing low damage.

What the two people above me said are so true. I also wasn’t geared properly, wasn’t leveling up properly and choosing the right feats/spells etc. I also didn’t keep a healer for a while and that was a mistake. Sometimes you also just need to level up. I hope you keep at it because the most fun in this game to me was figuring out a creative way to get past a fight. I will say one of my FAVORITE builds became a stealthy ranger/rogue. I made Astarion into that

I only did the final playthrough on Tactician which did remove it. My strat for that was the darkness warlock strat, which I struggled with immensely. The other trophies earlier on were on a lower difficulty
