As a follow up, I did trim my fenders and blocked off the hole in the fender. I used two 4in test caps from Lowes, one on the fender, one on the air box (both fit perfectly), then siliconed inside and out of each. I painted the stuff you can see from under the fender and now the only place air is pulled from is the cowl. That wraps up this project!

I didn't scan the comments for a concern I have for this mod. Here in Wyoming snow piles up on the cowl. What about that???

How about as for like when it rains and water goes down the cowl how is that gonna work ?

When you’re driving it’s all going up and over the cab mostly, for the little that does make its way into the cowl there is a drain that sits below the hole for the intake so water can’t get in unless you have submerged your truck up to that point

How loud is this setup, can you hear it while driving or while idle? Just realized we have the same trucks and very similar setups. My front bumper arriving in a couple months. Just started my channel as well here in California.

True, i think if it rains or washing the truck the water would go in.to the air intake.
