3rd Gen Tacoma - Coyote Flats Overlanding

Had the entire Labor Day weekend to myself. I heard Coyote Flats is good place to explore. Packed up my 3rd gen Taco and headed towards Inyo National Forest

Great video!!! Trying to plan a trip there myself. I’m also running 6112’s with 600lb springs and 5160’s. I agree definitely has softened up. Handles trails fantastic. I couldn’t be happy. Again great video. Subscribed 🤙🏻🤙🏻 I also have some trail footage on my page. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Not sure how much clearance you'd get with a subaru. But the WRX was struggling pretty bad. The driver mentioned he keep getting torque locked - not enough low-end torque to make up the climbs. His friend in a NA impreza seemed to have made it up further in the trail - the NA 2.5 had better low-end toque than the turbo'ed 2.5 motor.

Wouldn't recommend it. Last time I was up there a Subaru got deserted on the side and it looked beat up. Some spots would cause issues.

Looking into getting this exact set up for my Tacoma, would you mind sharing the suspension set up you have. I’ve been researching this 6112 5160 combo for awhile, did you put spacer in the front? I can’t seem to find a 3 inch 6112 for third gen taco. Only 2.75, and to make it 3 inch you have to add a spacer?Are you running 3inch front 2 in back? What size of wheels and tires are you running?
