Can you explain the transfer from cat to swath mode? Ballast tanks?

With hydraulic struts on the swath hull they could eliminate almost all motion and seasickness.

What do you mean hydraulic struts? Where the struts move up and down to absorb the shock from the waves?

SWATH vessels aren't really meant for heavy storms, on normal seas they respond slowly to wave changes and rolling motions so crew on board who aren't seasoned sailors don't get seasick, but that means in a heavy storm you may get lots of waves coming over the decks

@@rparker069 in heavy storms all ships get seas over the decks. The swath goes up and down over swells but it doesn't roll or list much at all.

malmotu motu SWATH are incredibly efficient. One example a 27m fishing boat has 7000nm range at 12 knots. over ten thousand if speed is slightly reduced.

This design can definitely achieve a lot of bouyancy with the tanks submerged and by using variable buoyancy tanks for different payloads. The bouyancy forces do not change much if the craft is submerged more because the cross section area of the boat is very tiny at water surface level. This allows it to be very stable and control its height above water with little effort using the canard fins and buoyancy tanks. Draft is indeed the price for that.
