🚀 Upgrading PDMS 11.5, 11.6, and 12 to 12.1 🛠️
Hello E3D enthusiasts! 🌐 Ali here, and I'm excited to welcome you to the third session of our AVEVA Everything3D Course. Today, we'll dive into a crucial aspect - upgrading your projects from PDMS 11.5, 11.6, or 12 to the latest 12.1 and E3D.
🛑 Why Upgrade?
Whether you've worked on projects with PDMS 11 versions or 12, upgrading is essential to harness the full capabilities of E3D. In this session, I'll guide you through the process step by step.
Upgrading from PDMS 11:
🔐 Backup your project data.
📂 Move PDMS 11.5 & 11.6 folders to PDMS 12 location.
🖱️ Edit evars.bat in PDMS 12 file location to set folder directions.
🛠️ Enter PDMS 12 Module Monitor with "ADMIN" user.
📊 Select MDB of your project for comprehensive DB upgrade.
📜 Enter the command line: $m/C:\AVEVA\Plant\PDMS12.0.SP6\PDMSUI\dra\upgrade\upgradeMac
🗑️ Confirm deletion of old DB with "Y."
🔄 After upgrading, expunge all users in Admin Module.
Upgrade PDMS 12 to 12.1:
🔐 Backup your project.
🖱️ Set your project in PDMS 12.1 evars.
🛠️ Start ADMIN Module.
🔒 Ensure no users are in the project or expunge all users locally.
🗝️ Lock the project.
📜 Enter Upgrade Command: DBUP PROJECT TO LATEST
🔓 Unlock the project.
💡 Why is This Session Crucial?
Understanding the upgrading process is fundamental before diving into E3D modeling. It's especially relevant if you have existing projects you want to migrate. Plus, stay tuned - we'll model a real case project together, and you'll receive it upon course completion.
🎁 Exclusive Real Case Project:
Upon completion, you'll gain access to a real case project we've executed for a client. Dive into its databases, catalogues, and specs. Use it to validate your skills and boost your confidence as an E3D piping designer.
