Crouch strong has a use. Since Urien is a charge type character it comes in handy for moving under someone if they try and jump on you.

I think Urien suits me as a character, in gameplan at least! Thanks for this content, it all makes a lot of sense. Certain times I would like to know which degree of tackle/headbutt (light, medium or heavy) you used or whether that would matter, but I will be able to know most of this when I practice these for myself. I'm already converting off of HP launcher and it hasn't been that long. So, thanks :)

Urien has always been my demon. Not Chun, not Yun, but Urien. No matter who I use I have the hardest time beating a Urien that knows what they're doing. 10+ years later I've decided to learn him just so I can beat him.

I doubt you will ever read this, as I realize this video is a bit older, but things like this are a bit disheartening. It is greatly appreciated, as having guides are amazing and are a great gateway for people to learn a character. The problem is, I've played 3S on pad for 15 years, and Urien for 6 of those. Every guide/tutorial/Charge Partition video show stuff on stick/hitbox, and its frustrating. Do you know of any video that showcases stuff on a regular controller? I'm switching to stick eventually, but for the certain future I'm stuck on controller.

Well, I can as well, and to tackle loops and all that shit, but there was never a tutorial specifically focused on pad. I had to try and adapt what I saw into that format, and it has taken a toll on my physical health, hand-wise. I just wish I had that kind of resource years ago when I started learning - at least one tailored around what I was using.

@@gordonfreeman5872 Keyboard is unironically the black horse of all peripherals when it comes to fighting games. Even if you don't use macros, you have very great advantage in games like Tekken for example.

@@anon3631 I'd say that using macros for directional inputs is cheating. Keyboard might be good for tekken where ur backdash cancelling all the time, but world's best players still opt for sticks so there must be smth more to it.

Keep in mind that getting each tackle to come out ASAP is as important as getting the headbutt ASAP. In a grounded combo, simply getting the next move to hit before the opponent leaves a hittable state is good enough, since they are then reset with the hitstun of that new move. In a juggle, however, hitting them with the next move just bounces them up again, and you want to get moves to come out, and thus hit, as early as possible, because doing so preserves height, and thus time, for you to get later moves to hit more easily and/or allows extra moves to hit. See if you can't find a way to tell how early you're getting your tackles to come out.

I know this is a bit late, but when you input the 2nd tackle, make sure you go from downback to downforward to input it. This way, you can maintain the down charge for the headbutt.

he goes over neutral buttons and basic setups. don't know how much more beginner you can get
