If fellow Filipinos keep electing corrupt politicians or celebrities who have no skill in governing, the country will never achieve the heights of Singapore or even Thailand. It is rich in natural resources and has skilled well educated work force but the brightest leave the country and work in 1st world countries for better opportunities. It is still a 3rd world country, just look at public transportation, garbage collection, the woeful airports, the slow WiFi speed, power shortages ( brown outs) and the horrific traffic. That's still the reality.

Slow wifi? It actually depends on what type of service you are paying. I'm from the province and my wifi here is even more fast that the wifi in my cousin house in Manila,. The thing is most people always get what is in promos and cost less but are expecting to have a very fast connection.

Fyi Philippines soon overtaken the economy of Thailand, Philippines economy is one of the fastest on earth and continuously growing and Phillippines GDP growth is above the GDP growth of Thailand in recent years so soon Philippines overtaken the economy of Thailand, there has traffic in Philippines because there have many many BIG infra projects are ongoing constructions all over Manila including the ambitious multi USBillion Dollar Hi - Speed SUBWAY train which is most modern in South East Asia and that's the massive progress in the Philippines, about wifi the wifi in Philippines is speed it's only depends on cost on what's you avail..in garbage Manila roads are always clean and neat because the garbage in Philippines is organized the garbage trucks in Metro Manila are always get the garbage in the streets every morning and evening so Manila roads are neat and clean..

FYI that Chapel is there so people can hear mass on a Sunday. Filipinos are religiously going to hear mass every Sunday. You’ll notice if you visit a mall there’s usually a chapel on the top floor. SM malls will always be packed with people on a Sunday, where the people hear mass before malling around or go to the grocery. That has been part of the culture. There are 7 malls in BGC area.

Third world, first world and second world are terms that divides countries based on their geopolitical alignment during the cold war. First world countries are those aligned with the NATO pact like the US, UK, France, etc while the second world countries belong to the Warsaw pact like USSR, East Germany, etc. Third world are simply those non-aligned countries like Philippines, Indonesia, even Switzerland. To accurately depict economic status of a country, the developed, developing, least developed are the appropriate terms.

My experience, that place is super fun when you get to there. Even more fun if you have great/fun friends/partners with you. The bad experience is often in between, point A to point B. Travel/traffic always sucks especially when you want to go. To me, seems to be getting worst with these hot spots. Everyone seems to be going there. To minimize that terrible experience, you have to learn to be strategic with best travel times - never so easy... Like, do not use McKinley to get to BGC in peak hours. If you do, try traveling there at 3 PM. Thinking leaving at 5 PM, you can get stuck for 2 hours on that road. McKinley used to be a shortcut, but now the traffic light in the end, it is a jam. But yes, when you get to these nice places in the Philippines, it is a great thing, and walking becomes fun. Plus, easy 10,000 steps, before you know it, every time.

It is very true that Phils has developed and will continue to grow in the coming years. The Southeast Asia region as a whole is growing. Phils growth though is largely driven by the large number of Filipinos working abroad. But if you look at core industries like Agriculture and Manufacturing, they have not grown. Foreign direct investments still lag behind our neighbors. Farmers and fisherfolks still have very meager income and still primitive in tools. You hardly find a farmer that owns a tractor. We taught Vietnam how to plant rice and now they have overtaken us in rice production and overall GDP. Waste management is still largely landfill-based. The healthcare insurance arm of the govt only subsidizes 30% in-patient. Zero subsidy for outpatient services. People who can’t pay have to line up at a politician’s office to get assistance. Our minerals are exported at a cheap price and comes back in the form of finished goods that are already expensive. Imagine if we are the ones actually producing the goods. Imagine what more we can achieve given our rich natural resources; and very young and talented labor market.
@JackBriskTVАй бұрын
Agreed on many levels. Manufacturing needs to grow and so many areas are lacking. All that said,, the future looks really bright. Keep up the good fight. 🇵🇭💪

If The Philippines would reach that first world status like those very developed nations, I just hope the country will still be able to preserve its culture and identity like our community and family-oriented values and traditions, religious beliefs and freedom, etc. Akin to Yin and Yang, I think everything in life is two-faced depending on how you view it or your perspective about it. Hearing about those people saying 'duh first world country problems!' or about the so called 'rat race society' or how chauvinists and narcissists most people have become in those very developed nations, made me think The Philippines would be better off as a high income country enough to minimize poverty if unable to eradicate it so as not to lose rather will still be able to retain its beautiful, lustrous and humbling culture, qualities and values The Philippines has since time immemorial. Philippines, together we stand, divided we fall! But it's all in God's Hands and Divine Providence if He will make The Philippines among the great nations and a beacon of light for the world to see. Just give it a time, in God's Time!

🇵🇭 You are only half right Rayven. I'm guessing you posted without watching the video. (His post below) VLOGGERS are the primary reason people have discovered the Philippines as being a true treasure. VLOGGERS are the reason we have been able to break through the false narratives presented to us by the Liegacy media and propagandists that produces "professional" materials to further their own ends by claiming the PH 🇵🇭 is a dangerous 3rd world country. Our cameras show the real Manila, Cebu, Palawan and so much more. The good, the bad and the beauty and more importantly reality. We show the real hospitable personality of your people. We show that the google narrative of just a couple of years that was saying the PH is a dangerous place is overwhelmingly false. The Philippines is less dangerous then many places in the west. Your anger is misguided. Point it at the misguided politicians and the lying media of the world. The Philippines is an amazing country and its destiny is to be a mighty power in the Asian region. Clearly headed to 1st world status, and in many places it has surpassed that goal. It has definitely surpassed my media pre conditioned expectations and for that I'm grateful. I love this place and will defend it side by side with my fellow PH brothers and sisters any day. Your patriotism is commendable but shaded by a dark filter. I share those strong feelings towards this great place. Vloggers are not the enemy, they are one of your last hopes to see the world unfiltered by government and corporate interests. Watch before you judge. Glory in the great accomplishments of the PH and keep a positive attitude. God, Freedom, Truth and Family followed by country. I use 'First World/Second World/Third World' terms still because saying "Developing Nations" is weird because (1) ALL nations are 'developing' and (2) the ones that want to claim that status instead of "Third Word" have been 'developing' for centuries with little luck. So 1st-3rd World terminology still fits and accurately cuts through political correctness and PR marketing.
@JackBriskTVАй бұрын
You have a point,, the US needs MUCH more development. I do have a point to make and its simple. We should all be proud of the things that distinguish us in a positive way. We should not care so much about what lables others put on us. 1ts, second, or thirds,, who cares. Lets judge a nations people on the content of their character not the rank of their state. In that case, PH is #1 by far. Just sayin 😀😎❤🎄🎅
@ADadSupremeАй бұрын
@@JackBriskTV Exactly. The US could use a high-speed rail badly. I was in Spain two weeks ago and rode from Madrid-Barcelona in First-Class, got a hot breakfast, had free WIFI, legroom like you wouldn't believe for less than a flight on Spirit Airlines. Then you have "1st World" countries like Russia and China actually de-evolving by the year. Even the UK and Germany are headed for trouble among a few. But it still beats the PI and just about anything classified as '2nd World' in my book.

Third world? That was a long time ago. Not anymore.The Philippines is now newly industrializing. And if you think the progressing Cities in the Philippines are a mix of clean modern and Asian shabby-ness, that will not apply to my city, the City of ILOILO, where modern is modern, heritage areas are wellkept and well-maintained. ILOILO CITY is unique among the cities in the Philippines. The problems that you see in other cities are the exact opposite in ILOILO CITY. ILOILO CITY has numerous well maintained American era parks, Spanish era plazas, and these are always in front of the Spanish era Roman Catholic Churches and carhefral; classic fountains, Spanish belfries; well-kept turn-of-the-century heritage government and private commercial buildings and grand palatial mansions. Outside Luzon, where Metro Manila is located, ILOILO has the only UNESCO-listed Roman Catholic Church as a World Heritage Church - the magnificent MIAG-AO FORTRESS CHURCH. Visit its interiors. There is a museum at the left side end, and a dungeon-like Adoration Chapel at the right side end. The JARO CATHEDRAL is the National Shrine to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria de Jaro. It is also kniwn as a male church because of the presence of make saints on its posts ( the 12 Apostles, and the 4 evangelists on the ceiling above the ALTAR TABLE. Across the city is MOLO CHURCH, one of the most beautiful churches in the Philippines, and is known as the women's church because of the all-females saints on the posts. ILOILO CITY's kilometers-long fully landscaped Riverside and creekside esplanades are a delight to go strolling on, and here you can go jogging , exercising, Zumba, birdwatching, hobby fishing, and Biking (yes, biking to yiur heart's content at esplanades 2 to 10, except at Esplanade 1, which is exclusive to seniors and strollers. ILOILO CITY is kbiwn as the Biking Capital of the Philippines. Recently, on October 14th, 2024, ILOILO CITY was listed by the London-based online publication, Headline Bulletin, #hbuk.co.uk, as One of the Top 18 Most Fitness-Friendly Cities in the World. ILOILO CITY is also a designated a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in the Philippines. Its iconic LA PAZ BATCHOY has been voted last November, 2024, by #TasteAtlas, the international food authority, as the Best Offal Soup Dish in the World. Also, ILOILO'S popular ILOILO CHICKEN INASAL Coal-Roasted Chicken barbeque, has likewise been voted by #TasteAtlas, as one of the best chicken dishes in the workd. Try skso ILOILO'S iconic PANCIT MOLO pork soup dumpling dish. The latest trending food activiry in ILOILO right now is the "Heritage Food Crawl', dining on heirloom Iloilo dishes at the various elegant heritage mansions and residences. Iloilo is your cherished culinary destination in the Philippines. ILOILO has numerous big hospitals and medical centers at par with the best in Metro Manila. There are numerous 100-year old universities and various high-end colleges and schools. There are 3 top-notch medical schools in ILOILO CITY. Regular direct international flights are between ILOILO and SINGAPORE, and between ILOILO and HONG KONG have resumed. ILOILO CITY's world-famous annual ILOILO DINAGYANG FESTIVAL will be on January 23rd to 26th 2025. As for ILOILO CITY being listed as One of the Top 18 Most Fitness-Friendly Cities in the World, here's the complete list:. 1). Amsterdam, Netherlands. 2). Buenos Aires, Argentina. 3). Vancouver, Canada. 4). Sydney, Australia. 5). Mexico City, Mexico. . 6). ILOILO, Philippines. 7). Singapore. 8). Tokyo, Japan. 9). Budapest, Hungary. 10). Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 11). Melbourne, Australia. 12). Los Angeles, California, USA. 13). Bratislava, Slovakia. 14). Ljubljana, Slovenia. 15). Prague, Czech Republic. 16). Wellington, New Zealand. 17). Zagreb, Croatia. 18). Seoul, South Korea. These cities are also among the most beautiful cities in the World.

Definitely not a third world. Its a developing country. I blame mostly the media that only highlights the worst part of the country on every freakin documentary or the news. I was on the floor laughing when that blunt lady told you that you’re in need of some skin treatments. 😂

lol, ty about the lady with the skin car comment. So yep,, I know,, im getting old lady in the mall,, haha. So true about the media highlights. Also true about the decline of the west in the early 2020's. Good news is the US is likely to see a revival now. Other good news, as long as the gov doesn't stop us, VLOGGERS are exposing the reality. No filters, just the unfiltered good and bad of all nations. A citizen with a camera is far better then the classic media. 🎅🎅🎄🎅❤😂
@garthshadow2516Ай бұрын
The reason for all those poverty footage in the Philippines is due to the church, media, NGOs and charity institutions benefiting from non-taxable donations from other countries. That's why they push the narrative of the "maralitang pilipino" all the time on TV. Something that PH media and the church here seemed to avoid talking about is that the Vatican had severed their ties with Caritas Manila a few years ago due to corruption but still operating as connected with the CBCP.
